When crime is high do the police restrict their gun supply?
Of course not.
Laws inflict penalties on those who break them.
They do not prevent crime, death, rape, theft, extortion, molestation, etc.
Passing laws that inflicts penalties on non-criminals is how the drug war started, and prohibition, and copyright wars, etc.

What gun law do you think would of stopped this man from committing murder, we already have background checks in NY, the man used a typical hunting shotgun. By the way did you see what the police had to protect themselves from this man, everything that is illegal for a citizen to protect themselves with, the citizens lost twice, once with their rights to protection, twice with their lives. If anything this is proof that gun laws do NOT protect people and only makes them easier targets. Think of it this way if we put up a gun free zone sign do you think that would of stopped this, you're probably saying no, but that is the only protection some think you need as if criminals follow the law to begin with.
