Some of my mutual funds have done very well over the years, depends on what's in your portfolio and how good the fund manager is. Some of the bond funds did well until recently.
True, and that what is says in the article. Your mileage may vary.
A lot of the better, older funds are not accepting new clients anymore as well.
Very true, some of the funds I have have been closed to new owners for quite a while. Let's hope the market keeps going up and doesn't have a big correction.

Or not. That number doesn’t adjust for inflation. As CNBC’s Jeff Cox writes, “in inflation-adjusted dollars, the Dow would need to hit 15,731.54 to break the record.” In fact, in inflation-adjusted terms, the Dow is still well below it’s 2000 high.
