More renaissance news! The A-Jello rag Spotlight Newspaper will cease printing a Schenectady County edition in March. Apparently business in renaissance County ain't too good. They will concentrate solely on
Albany County publications. Unfortunately this didn't happen before Election Day but one less arm of the corrupt DEM County machine.

Maybe they were tired of using the 'facts' provided by the Plex and the City only to realize numbers were puffed, job creation was a lie, home sales figures were untrue....hard to run a paper based on falsehoods.

Spotlight is also to cease printing a Saratoga County edition... I guess because that county is going to hell also  

they will still be posting the news online. just not in hard copy.

it appears that advertising revenue is down.

Then it makes no sense to leave the Republican bastion of Saratoga County to concentrate on heavily Democratic Albany county... It tells me the political slant of the publication is long gone.

As usual the person who started this threat is misstating the actual facts to push a loony tunes anti-Schenectady agenda.  The facts are:   the Spotlight is a poor quality newspaper and thus can't sell advertising to keep itself afloat  AND the nayboobs remain hellbent on tearing down our community by resorting to lies and distortions.

NONE of the newspapers sell as much advertising as they used to. They rely on the major supermarket chains as all local media does. Spotlight didn't get an ounce of that $$

Also, comically enough- ever notice the correlation between the scare tactics employed by all local media in advance of any winter weather event, and how they always implore people to get "prepared" by having milk, bread, water, canned goods, meat, cold cuts and other items like batteries, toilet paper and sundries that are magically all found at the markets!?!?

Usually, once the buying has reached fever pitch and the markets have had sales numbers comparable to Wednesday before Thanksgiving it is either downgraded or as of late they skip the downgrade and continue fear-monger the schit out it and ends up A) a dusting B) 1/4th of what was predicted  C)no precipitation at all. However, peoples' garbage cans are then filled with rancid cold cuts, veggies, and the pantries are filled with useless canned goods and bottled waters. Batteries are misplaced, and toilet paper is stocked for a month. However most of the stuff that the people buy gets used I bet, but they never need as much as they buy and then when at the store-buy stuff they don't really need.
