French Foreign Minister: '500 Days to Avoid Climate Chaos'
Secretary of State John Kerry welcomed French foreign minister Laurent Fabius to the State Department in Washington on Tuesday to discuss a range of issues, from Iran to Syria to climate change. Or, in the words of the foreign minister, "climate chaos." Kerry and Fabius made a joint appearance before their meeting, and the foreign minister warned that only 500 days remained to avoid "climate chaos"[emphasis added]:
Well, I’m very happy to be with John. There is no week without a phone call or a visit between John and myself, and we have on the agenda many items, many issues – Iran, because negotiations are resuming today; the question of Syria, and we shall meet next Thursday in London together; Ukraine as well; and very important issues, issue of climate change, climate chaos. And we have – as I said, we have 500 days to avoid climate chaos. And I know that President Obama and John Kerry himself are committed on this subject and I’m sure that with them, with a lot of other friends, we shall be able to reach success on this very important matter.
It is unclear what the foreign minister had in mind with the 500 days. However, France is scheduled to host the "21st Conference of the Parties on Climate Change" in December 2015, about 565 days from now.

I think that even someone as ill informed as Bucky can appreciate that the time to address Climate Change is not when NYC has an underwater subway or when Miami Beach condos are a SCUBA Divers attraction... By then it will be to late to impact the outcome of Climate Change.
If you want to change the impact of Climate Change the time is now... Either by limiting the impact humans (or nature) has on the Climate, or by moving people out of what will be underwater property and relocating them to higher ground. NOTE: The highest elevation in Florida is 345 feet... It's AVERAGE elevation is 100 feet The AVERAGE elevation of 10 states is under 350 feet. ~ To appreciate that elevation consider that at Hudson Falls NY, the Hudson river is at 200'. ~ The mean water elevation at Albany is 2 feet above sea level, and the average range in tide is about 4 feet. ~ The elevation of the Mohawk river today at Freemans Bridge Schdy is 210'

Climate change has been happening since the world began. It has its UPSIDE - for example, we who live in upstate NY are not sitting on a mile thick slab of glacial ice today. It has its DOWNSIDE, too. Ultimately, we just have to adapt and learn to live with it.
BTW -- Obama and all those politicians from New Jersey and New York who are so worried about climate change --- were apparently NOT worried enough and proposed to spend $60 Billion of taxpayer money to rebuild areas that within the next 2 centuries or less will be part of the ocean. They should have used that money to build on higher ground INLAND and move the population away from the rising seas.
