And as we see the cops weren't there to protect and serve, if it wasn't for the 2nd amendment we may
have had more victims of the liberal agenda. That is why you are going off topic because
you hate these stories admit it.

Henry YOU keep trying to push your view on to ME!
Try this time to actually read what I'm posting because it IS my view on the subject.

I SUPPORT THE 2ND AMENDMENT,
AND
I SUPPORT GOOD GUN LAWS.

I've posted my view but since it doesn't fit your agenda, you reject it and PRETEND that I have
another view.

I own guns for self protection and because I used to hunt and trap shoot.
If a intruder were threatening my life, or that of my loved ones, I'd shoot him.  Reluctantly, but I'd shoot.

So now that you've read what I actually think on the subject, maybe you can abandon posting
what you need me to think and actually post about what I do think.

IMO, assault weapons, easily converted to full automatic, make us all less safe and more likely to be
a target of a crime.

On another subject... since L4Life has started his "COPS" agenda, has there been any one of these stories
that a homeowner defending his home actually NEEDED an assault weapon?
Is there even ONE of these stories where a semi automatic shotgun, or a semi automatic rifle or
pistol would have would have led to a different outcome???

Again, IMO, there are cases where a homeowner would be much better off with a shotgun than a AR15...
or a Pistol than a AR15.  Is there any of these stories that proved an assault weapon was superior to
other weapons???

Your full of it box, every time you say you are a gun owner you follow it up with 50 posts saying why citizens shouldn't own this or that, then you constantly mock those who do have those weapons as some red neck hick domestic terrorist. People need to look no further then your recent posts to understand you want the 2nd amendment gone, all your talk about your guns is spin, you don't own sh*t.

OK.  So your hatred blinds you to the truth.  It's not uncommon for fanatics to reject what doesn't
fit their agenda... and your post seems to fit this scenario.

I've owned about a dozen firearms in my lifetime, although I've sold most of them.  I no longer hunt so
I sold my 30.06 Remington 700.  I owned a double barrel 12 ga, but no longer used it so I sold that along
with an extra .22 and a 6mm Rem. Ruger.
I've fired an amazing number of weapons, from machine guns to flame throwers, to (once) a 105 howitzer.
I've shot between 60,000 to 90,000 rounds in my lifetime (just a guess)
I was an arms demonstrator for a time whilein the Marines.

I still own some weapons but very seldom shoot any them.  You can believe me or not... it makes no
difference to me... but those are the FACTS, even if your Rabid Right Wing agenda won't let you
believe them.

Good Gun Laws...
I would like to see:
~ a NY style pistol permit be a federal law with one set of rules for everyone.
~ a 5 day waiting period for all arms sales.
~ a mandatory background check, and a state of the art system to do those checks.
~ see several weapons banned from this date forward and a buy back program for those
who want to sell the ones they presently own.
~ Registration and tracking of all weapons from manufacture to final disposal.

I would not like to see:
~ confiscation of banned weapons that are now legal.
~ elimination of the right to bear arms.
~ any more people killed needlessly due to lax gun laws!

Here is the spin I told everyone about, I owned this I fired that blah blah blah but now he wants the criminals to be more heavily armed then the law abiding citizens. The more deaths of citizens the more he can blame this gun or that gun for his agenda, just like he is using the deaths of little kids for political reason, fcking disgusting >

Nope. States have a right to decide what is best for each state.

Quoted from Box A Rox

~ a 5 day waiting period for all arms sales.

Nope. prequalified licensed gun owners should not need to wait. They already have been approved by the
proper authorities.

Quoted from Box A Rox

~ a mandatory background check, and a state of the art system to do those checks.

Nope. One time only. There is no reason to continuously check the background of every gun purchaser.
anyone who shows a valid license should be already approved. Currently in NY even if you have a pistol license,
every purchase must still be approved by a judge. There is no need to change this system.

Quoted from Box A Rox

~ see several weapons banned from this date forward and a buy back program for those
who want to sell the ones they presently own.

Nope. Ban nothing. Banned guns will simply cost more but will still be freely available.

Quoted from Box A Rox

~ Registration and tracking of all weapons from manufacture to final disposal.

Nope. First of all, all pistols in NY are already tracked from the time of purchase and each successive sale must
be approved by the local judge.

Quoted from Box A Rox

I would not like to see:

~ any more people killed needlessly due to lax gun laws!

More people die and are injured due to leaving guns at home instead of being allowed to freely carry them.

Now addressing your gun tracking issue, I would agree to treating all guns the same as pistols as long as carry
concealed for personal protection is allowed and freely issued, except upon just cause.

1. Any person owning any type of weapon should be required to have a firearms safety course.

2. All purchases should be approved by the local judge. It takes an hour or 2.

3. Sales of guns by non dealers would need the same approval and the buyer must present a license or proof
of an approved safety course. This already applies to all handgun purchases. The purchaser must have a valid
pistol license.

4. Anyone with a pistol license should be already considered to be background checked.

5. Gun owners should be held responsible for any actions committed by their weapons.

These are reasonable and easily enforced rules for gun ownership.

All the other safe gun laws BS is hysterical nonsense.

It's not surprising to see just how out of step some posters on this board actually are on the issue
of gun control.
Compare their views with the vast majority of NRA members:

According to a poll conducted in May by Republican pollster Frank Luntz, NRA members, overwhelmingly
support measures typically described as “gun control:

1. Requiring criminal background checks on gun owners and gun shop employees.
87 percent of non-NRA gun-owners and 74 percent of NRA gun owners support the former,
and 80 percent and 79 percent, respectively, endorse the latter.

2. Prohibiting terrorist watch list members from acquiring guns.
Support ranges from 80 percent among non-NRA gun-owners to 71 percent among NRA members.

3. Mandating that gun-owners tell the police when their gun is stolen.
71 percent non-NRA gun-owners support this measure, as do 64 percent of NRA members.

4. Concealed carry permits should only be restricted to individuals who have completed a safety
training course and are 21 and older.
84 percent of non-NRA and 74 percent of NRA member gun-owners support the safety training
restriction, and the numbers are 74 percent and 63 percent for the age restriction.

5. Concealed carry permits shouldn't be given to perpetrators of violent misdemeanors or
individuals arrested for domestic violence.
The NRA/non-NRA gun-owner split on these issues is 81 percent and 75 percent in favor of the
violent misdemeanors provision and 78 percent/68 percent in favor of the domestic violence restriction.

I have no problem with all the above but one: Prohibiting terrorist watch list members from acquiring guns. Who decides who a terrorist is. If the authority rests solely in the hands of the government I'm against this item because the government has already proved that they consider any group who believes differently than they do as being a domestic terrorist.
