Atlanta School Shooting Update: Armed officer working at middle school disarmed suspect, says chief

By
    Crimesider Staff

/ CBS Atlanta
(AP) ATLANTA - Atlanta's police chief says an armed officer working at a city middle school where a
student was shot was able to disarm the suspect, also a student, moments after the shooting.

Authorities say a 14-year-old boy was shot in the back of the neck Thursday at Price Middle School and his injury does not appear to be life-threatening. The suspect was taken into custody.

Chief George Turner says multiple shots were fired, and only the 14-year-old was wounded. After some initial confusion about the nature of a teacher's injuries, officials now say the teacher received minor cuts in the aftermath of the shooting.

Police spokesman Carlos Campos says investigators believe the shooting was not random and that something occurred between the two people involved that may have led up to it.

Students at the school were kept inside for hours as their parents waited anxiously outside. By 5p.m. children were being reunited with their parents.

Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Erroll Davis says the school has metal detectors and officials are looking into how the gun got on campus.

The Town hall meeting was awesome.  The gun law pushers got severely abused.

Near the end I was almost expecting for someone to go postal.

They turned into an angry mob.

Now in the closing remarks, the hysterical little girls are turning their pitchforks and
torches after the mentally impaired people.

They will likely want them banned from society.

That was a great town hall meeting, notice how the one gun grabber tried to resort into personal attacks by calling the one guy a "extremist". The crowd didn't fall for it and they let him know about it. One thing that came out of it was proof this bill doesn't have the support some said it did, 90% of the people there were against it and as said by the news guy the overwhelming majority of those online were also against it. Notice when he said that the left wing guy tried to blame the NRA for the results, sounds like someone we know here

I'm sorry but we are forced to reconfigure reality to match the government authorized polling data.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, predicted that the Republican-run House would never pass an assault weapons ban,
no matter what the Democratic-led Senate does.

"Most of us Republicans believe these gun-control approaches don't work, and yet they diminish liberty," he said.

That had to be the statement of the month!  No legislation, even if they outlawed all guns, would
'guarantee' and end to mass shootings.  Duhhhhh!

It would be nice if we could start by cutting them by 1/4 and possibly over time maybe even cutting them
by 1/2.  Or even if we could cut the number of mass shootings by 3/4, we'd probably equal the number
in most developed countries.

We already have background checks and waiting periods.

That is not the entire law, only a minor part of a law Coumo rammed down the throats of the legislature,
and admitted they never had time to read the entire bill.

Coumo over stepped.

The Republicans have stated they will not let any bill pass.

All that's left is for Coumo's bill to be abolished or replaced with a sensible agreeable to all plan.

40% of all sales at GunShows are made WITHOUT BACKGROUND CHECKS!
L4Life knows this fact, yet ignores the reality... If you are a convicted felon and want a gun... just
bring your cash to a gun show and walk away with a new shiny AR15.
If a felon wants a gun in NY State, he needs only to cross the border and buy one.
THE ONLY RESTRICTION FOR A CONVICTED FELON WANTING A GUN IS THE CASH$$$

we used to 'count' syringes along with the narcotic count...guess what? the 'good people' doing their due diligence
did NOTHING for the seekers/abusers/addicts or limit infections of IV drug users...
now we all subsidize their 'clean free' needle exchange all in the name of 'feeling good about ourselves' and being
sooooooooo civilized and progressive.

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Your world is a sad place.

The choice was between spreading AID or buying needles.  Many conservatives were happy with
AIDS killing off drug addicts, until the addicts were their sons and daughters.

it doesn't change human behavior...people do what they do, they choose what they choose...that's freedom and it's OK

AIDS spreading when we can easily reduce those numbers is not 'OK' for me.  Preventing AIDS was the
goal, not 'changing human behavior'.

You completely ignore the fact that a certain percentage of people are corrupt,
and that no law will change that, you will merely get them a higher price.

OK, let's assume every person with a gun agrees to a background check before
releasing the gun to a buyer.

Next a nutcase wants a gun. He asks some heroin or crack addict to make the purchase.

Nutcase wins, stupid law bypassed.

You do understand the effects of prohibition and profiteering right?

Go ahead, start another unwinnable enforcement action that will make the wrong people rich.

Freedom? Nooooooooooo!

We can't let people make free choices!

We must investigate every aspect of everyone's life and decide who gets to use their rights and who doesn't.

The new freedoms must be issued by communist government approval.
