Private citizens face that same criminal firepower every day. Not a logical comparison to what I stated, and you know that! Why shouldn't they have the right to properly defend themselves? Our society has decided that we should have a police force for protection....not vigilantes or militias. We expect them to do what they were hired for. Individuals had their rights, still to own firearms, but now there are limitations. It's a reality of society, not government. The issue is not law abiding citizens...it's the criminals. Are you now forcing all citizens to depend on police protection only?Silly statement......police exist because society wanted them to exist. No one is forced to rely on them, they are equally protected by them. Criminals rarely go after cops. Their targets are almost always private citizens, who you hysterical little girls have conveniently limited to less firepower than the criminals.Not talking about going after anyone, talking about criminal acts, period. Majority of crime is not someone going after another. It's bank robberies, home invasions, gang banger drive by shooting, etc. I want the responding officers to be prepared with the tools needed! By the way, if you own weapons, what is your training and qualification? Do you honestly feel you can defend yourself if faced with someone pointing a weapon at you ready to kill? You have no idea what that would be like or how you would react. Keep your weapons, I don't want to take them away from you. But hope and pray that there is someone in law enforcement responding to that person pointing a gun at you, because you may need them.
