Yes that is true but still some believe full auto guns are completly illegal, most politicians and as we see civilians are not up to date on the laws but they just love talking like they do know it all. People can look up videos of the knob Creek shoots, those are all legally owned automatic firearms that civilians own.

Guns, gear stolen from police cars; ATF offers reward money
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Seven law enforcement vehicles in the Kansas City, Mo., area were broken into this weekend. Now, a handful of guns are missing, and the ATF has posted a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
The thieves got away with three guns -- two AR-15's and a shotgun, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
The weapons were taken from among the Jackson County Sheriff's vehicles and KCPD police cars that were broken into.
The police department said the thieves targeted officers' and deputies' homes from Friday to Monday nights around 98th and Wornall and in the Summit Woods neighborhood near 76th and Dove in south Kansas City. Some of the vehicles were unmarked. "Just because you hold a badge and uphold the law doesn't mean you're immune to being a victim of crime," said Sgt. Rod Gentry, with the KCPD property crimes unit.
Law enforcement officials believe the robberies are connected to a shots-fired call they received early Monday morning. When they arrived at the scene, they found police gear and documents -- and shell casings that matched their own guns. As the investigation continues, Jackson County deputies are now no longer keeping weapons in cars.
Law enforcement officials said the crimes are concerning because all the weapons were taken from high-security gun locking systems. They believe the crimes may have been committed by someone who is familiar with police equipment.
CAYCE — Authorities are investigating after several guns were stolen from the Cayce police chief’s car.
Officers say someone broke into Chief Charles McNair’s car sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning while it was parked outside his home.
Cayce Department of Public Safety Lt. Jeffrey Simmons says a.40-caliber Glock handgun, a Remington 12-gauge pump action shotgun and a $600 bulletproof vest were among the items that stolen.
No arrests have been made.
Simmons says the department recommends that officers secure weapons in the trunk if they don’t take them inside, but he wasn’t aware of any specific policy.
Detective's Son Investigated After Service Weapon Used In Drug Holdup
AYDEN - Investigators say a Pitt County detective's gun was used in an Ayden drug robbery Wednesday evening.
The detective's son, Jason Craft, is now under investigation for stealing and selling the gun. Craft is in jail for selling stolen goods to an Ayden pawn shop, and has not been charged with stealing Detective Johnnie Craft's firearm at this time. But that charge may be coming soon, a Sheriff's spokesperson said.
Ayden Police say the gun was used Wednesday around 5:00 p.m. when three men held up a suspected drug dealer. The three individuals, Taybron Raheem, Mario Carmon, and Frederick Long face felony charges for using the detective's gun in the robbery.
Detective Craft reported his gun missing Monday. The Pitt county sheriff says Craft's son is also being investigated for allegedly stealing an assault rifle from a Greenville police officer's vehicle.

ANTIOCH -- Two guns were stolen from a law enforcement officer's home Wednesday before one of the residents came home and interrupted the theft, police said. No one was injured, and the burglars escaped. Antioch police Sgt. Trevor Schnitzius said the officer was not a member of the Antioch police force, but declined to identify the department, and would not give the location of the targeted home. The weapons, a handgun and a rifle, were not recovered. Schnitzius said police are continuing to investigate, but have not named any suspects. Firearms stolen from police training center WELDON, N.C. — Someone broke into a law enforcement training center in July, stealing nearly $7,000 in guns, and federal investigators are seeking help from the public to solve the case.
Seventeen handguns, a shotgun and 6,000 rounds of ammunition were stolen from the Basic Law Enforcement Training complex at Halifax Community College in Weldon sometime between July 23 and July 26, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says.
Last week, the ATF said, someone stole 29 guns from Arrow Pawn in Raleigh during the early-morning hours of Nov. 9. It's unclear whether the two cases might be connected. Calls to the ATF were not returned Friday.
A reward of up to $2,500 is available for information leading to a conviction in either of the cases.

TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) - Officers are seeking the public's help in locating an AR-15 rifle that was stolen from an off-duty Tempe police officer's personal vehicle early Monday morning.
The incident happened between 4:45 a.m. and 6:20 a.m. while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot on the ASU campus. The AR-15 is described as a lightweight, magazine-fed semi-automatic rifle.
Police declined to release the officer's name while the investigation proceeds. Officers said they don't have any suspects or witnesses.
Investigators said they will be conducting an administrative review for any potential policy violations on the part of the officer.
