"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Now that Silent T with Soros cash bought a State Senate seat this County seat must be filled. Where is the demand that this seat be filled so it can be voted on in November?
Another example of the complete collapse of the two party system. The DEMS take their sweet a#$ time and nobody says nuthin. Keep the DEM implosion going! Shortfall? What shortfall?

Rotterdam town board sees changes
Rotterdam councilman becoming legislator; new member to take oath

ROTTERDAM — After three years in office, Democratic Town Councilman Matthew Martin is leaving the panel over the weekend to become a county legislator, Town Supervisor Harry Buffardi said.

Buffardi, a Democrat, said Thursday that the panel is scheduled during a 10 a.m. special Saturday meeting to accept Martin's resignation and then appoint Nicola "Nicki" DiLeva.

DiLeva, a principal at Schenectady's Martin Luther King Magnet School, said Thursday she is looking forward to returning to serve her hometown.

The Conservative-turned-Democrat also said she has already decided to run in November for a full 4-year term.

Buffardi said he wanted to get DiLeva sworn in Saturday before Councilman Wayne Calder leaves Monday for a two-week vacation. Martin will take the oath of office as a county lawmaker at the panel's Feb. 12 regular meeting.

"We certainly wanted all the members to have an impact and a vote on this," Buffardi said of the DiLeva appointment. He lauded DiLeva as a bright, educated and active member during her tenure on the board that ended about two years ago when she opted not to seek re-election..

"She is very skilled at the art of government," the supervisor said.

Councilman Robert Godlewski said he sees no good reason to rush the DiLeva appointment.

"I just don't see the need to rush to have somebody appointed on a Saturday morning," Godlewski said. "Why don't you make it on a Sunday morning when people are in church?"

Martin, who is in his late 20s, will represent District 4, which includes Rotterdam, Princetown and Duanesburg. He will have to run in November to fill out the one year unexpired term of Angelo Santabarbara, now a freshman state assemblyman from Rotterdam.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Some stale socks really wreak when they keep getting re-worn and put in the drawer, only to be re-worn and re-worn...

3 months later...ZZZZZZZ. The goat hearder made new State Senator-now what is the delay?
It just shows how totally useless the County Legislature is and why it should be replaced with an unpaid Board of Supervisors.
