That darn Garrow fellow , trying to invest in Rotterdam and fix up a vacant dilapidated building , how dare he , I wanted to look at that vacant building for the next 10 years. You know what though !? I heard that now theyre considering putting in a rehab facility / strip club at the library since the gym was shot down , ohh well . Maybe the with the revenue stream from that they can pay their dam taxes ! -- I heard it on Rotterdamny.info so it must be true !
One day you will wake up and realize there is no more time to do the things you have always wanted to do ... do them now
why wont they allow a gym? Are they saying not enough parking?
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
No gym due to parking issues which is understandable , the kids used to walk to the library which is about 3000 sq ft upstairs and another 3000 downstairs so parking was never an issue. The Dewey Decimal System is still on the wall .Instead they proposed a personal training facility and the town is happy with the idea so hopefully within the next month well see the building get some TLC and fresh landscaping . The renaissance has arrived at Guilderland Avenue haha !

Yeah, a gym won't work, in fact I can't think of any business I do think would work there. Lousy parking situation, and too many nearby empty buildings give the whole area a negative feeling. Also this building is old and will need allot of money put in to make it into anything.
I would have thought that a professional type of space where very little parking is needed. For instance an insurance, lawyer, accountant, realty, engineer, surveyor, archeologist. Someone with 3 employees and a lot of space need for files, etc. But a personal trainer only has one or two people at a time, so does a masseuse or chiropractor. A true muscle gym might only need ten parking spots at a time too, rather than a fitness center like P.F.

The former Wingate library has approximately 4 spaces in the front lot and 4 more in the rear lot.
Plenty of alternative parking since Dunzy's and the insurance company across from Dunzy's both closed.
Well, you can't forever count on that unless there is a lease for parking spots. For instance the new owner can get those proerty owners to lease the spots for x number of years as alternative parking, and a sign would need to be posted. Those two places may be sold or leased out in the future and only a lease would protect the parking rights for the wingate building. The owner may be able to negotiate a favorable price right now for the space, like $100 bucks a year per space or something (plus wingate owner might have to maintain and plow them) seeing as they are empty. I would think the insurance building is a better bet b/c there is more space. 8 spots arent a lot. Parking means everything for expansion and ability to use a building to its potential. Despite what the crazy enviromentalists say- people are not going to stop driving
