An article appeared in the Gazette a few days ago relating a story that there was an attack on some Towm residents
by a pitbull.
Police were called and these residents were told that Animal Control does not operate on week-ends..
Seems Animal Control was cut to week-days only because of the budget.....but before this a PT person was hired to fill
in when the official control officer is not available....Evidently, this PT fill in was not available to do the job. If you look at the
past reolutions, you will see the application for the PT fill in....doesn't say much...no qualifications....no address other
than Campbell Ave..no age....nothing....this person is not even a Town resident...with an "A" on the end of the surname.
What do you make of it???
Looks like Peter is robbing to pay Paul....but Paul is no where to be found....
This is the way the Town hires ??....Animal Control in this Town is very needed....It's a service that is dangerous and someone
has to be available 24/7.... someone with experience and also an animal advocate..it's not a "fluff" job.
This problem needs to be addressed and have a solution that won't have a tragic end ..
AND.....this Town needs its' own Animal Shelter....it has been a growing problem and has been put on the back burner.
Why do the strays have to be brought to Amsterdam???....no money budgeted???...doesn't make sense and probably costs
more money.....cut the TC's office....and the waste that
exists in the Town Hall.......give our residents the services that are needed...instead of giving jobs away to those that
can't perform or be productive....and don't live in the Town....who are these people running the Town???

and kudos to FT Animal Control ..doin' a great job....
