Ron Paul is a marketing genius. His Tenth Amendment paleoconservative schtick sounds like a small-government philosophy - but if you look at how it would actually affect your day-to-day life, it's clear that the system he proposes would actually be much more restrictive, and much more authoritarian, than that of any of his primary opponents.
If Ron Paul is elected president and gets the full power of Congress behind him, you can say goodbye to these six basic rights - starting with... 1. Your right to privacy. 2. Your right to have sex. 3. Your right to purchase and use birth control. 4. Your right to show a lack of respect to the U.S. flag. 5. Your right to exercise your own religious beliefs. 6. Your right to equal protection under the law.
LOL! You tee'd this one up. This is the classic slippery slope argument assuming states and the citizens being governed would suddenly pass laws establishing a state religion, kicking down bedroom doors arresting homosexuals, and outlawing birth control.
Rusty your source is greatly exaggerating the repercussions of Paul's past statements, with that said there are some grains of truth in your link. Therefore one must ask, is Ron Paul perfect? No, Do I agree with all of his policies? No. Do I think he is light years better than Obama and Romney, YES!!!! Your never gonna find a perfect candidate, but we can sure as hell do a lot better that Mitt and Barack who won't change anything if elected. Keep buying the corporate media hype and phony outrage their talking heads spew. FYI< MSNBC and FOX news are playing the same game, and in the end the only real loser is America. Wake up. Johnson 2012!!!
dont kick any doors down, you might find DV in the closet
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
1. Your right to privacy. Already gone under the Patriot Act
2. Your right to have sex. Already regulated, illegal if you pay for a service, legal to pay for the service if you film it
3. Your right to purchase and use birth control. I don't see condoms going off the market any time soon, anyways we have natural birth control methods.
4. Your right to show a lack of respect to the U.S. flag. Every hear of free speech zones, might not want to post on facebook either anytime soon
5. Your right to exercise your own religious beliefs. Some people in Waco might feel differently already, also Paul was one of only a handful who backed the right of those muslims who wished to build a mosque in NYC
6. Your right to equal protection under the law. Again already gone under NDAA, they can now detain you indefinitely without a trial or right to a lawyer
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
