SARATOGA SPRINGS — Trainer Dale Romans was blase about the five hours Shackleford spent traveling from Churchill Downs to Saratoga Race Course on Thursday morning.

“It wasn’t much of a trip,”he said.

Romans is expecting a much more exciting one on Sunday, when the Grade I Met Mile winner takes on seven rivals in the Grade I A.G. Vanderbilt.
