But even the state should be limited in how it can define marriage - by natural law and centuries of moral tradition.
Well, that would mean the prevailing opinion of natural law in 1853 would certainly say that the African American race was an inferior race and slavery was morally justified for the European white landowners to own. The BIG difference between the two is the government passed slavery laws that denied the natural rights and liberty of another human being. Whereas government recognized marriage doesn't restrict the rights and liberty of homosexuals, it denies them the special government privileges granted to heterosexuals by the state. If the government didn't offer special privilege to heterosexual marriage and stayed out of the business of marriage, this wouldn't even be a public policy debate. It would be a private matter like it should be.
the only folks that boycott are those with a poker in the fire....that WOULD be the 1%ers....Box's arch enemies...... I guess they do fight your battles for you.....
HUH! Then these boycotts didn't work huh Senders:
~1769, in opposition of "taxation without representation," Colonial boycott of British trade goods.
~1830 - boycott of slave-produced goods.
~1880 the boycott of Captain Charles Cunningham Boycott, an English land agent in Ireland who was subject to a boycott organized by the Irish Land League.
~1921 The boycott of British goods by Mahatma Gandhi know as the swadeshi policy. Gandhi also urged people to boycott British educational institutions and law courts, to resign from government employment, and to forsake British titles and honours.
~1950's &1960's by African Americans during the U.S. civil rights movement
~ the United Farm Workers union's grape and lettuce boycotts
~ the Arab League boycott of Israel and companies trading with Israel
~ the boycott of South Africa by a large part of the world's countries during its apartheid period
But of course, Boycotts don't work!

I never said boycotts don't work....I said that your assumption that only the 99%'ers (statistical lie) do this...
what happens is you boycott the McDonald's that uses papertowels...who in turn put pressure on the rest of their wallstreet buddies to 'fix' their trade/marketing rhetoric....
it's MTV
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS

As I pointed out... Your assumptions are (as usual) wrong.

The nearest Chick-Fil-A's are in Scranton, PA and Northern New Jersey. It is time for a road trip to show support for a good company which finds itself under attack from the Neo-Liberals.
Better yet - now is the time to start a petition for Chick-Fil-A to open shops in the Capital District.

New Hampshire’s only Chick-fil-A restaurant is going against the wishes of chicken chain founder Dan Cathy by pledging to co-sponsor an LGBT Pride Festival in the state.
In a statement on the New Hampshire Pride Festival website, Nashua Chick-fil-A franchise manager Anthony Picolia said he was backing the the event, citing “positive relationships with family, friends, customers and employees in the LGBT community.”

It's not going "against his wishes". Dan Cathy - when asked - publicly answered a question about what his opinion was on the definition of marriage. Then a fascist democrat from the 1st Ward in Chicago threatened to withhold permits because of his personal opinions on the definition of marriage.
Cicero loves his new best word... "FASCIST"... although he's not quite sure of it's definition. He keeps using it in the most inappropriate applications.
Dictionary definition:
fascist
1. a person who believes in or sympathizes with fascism. 2. a member of a fascist movement or party. 3. a person who is dictatorial or has extreme right-wing views.
Cicero's definition: Fascist
1. Anyone who Cicero disagrees with.

Ahhh...The cut and paste king just accidentally found some truth in his cutting and pasting of a definition. See Box, I'm not a Fascist, because when you and I disagree, I just argue my position and leave it at that. While your fellow democrat in Chicago uses the POWER OF GOVERNMENT to PUNISH a private citizen because of his personal views on a social issue by withholding the permits required to operate in that Ward.
A person who is dictatorial...Hmmmm, the First Ward of Chicago threatened to deny Chick-Fil-A permits because they disagree with the CEO's opinion of the definition of marriage.
You're almost there box; you are starting to get it...Even if by accident.

Cicero loves to play the sad suffering victim... (his best work) Cic is LONG on rhetoric but SHORT on FACTS.
Tell me Cic... and please be specific... WHO was "PUNISHED" by "withholding the permits required to operate in that Ward"? What person or business was denied a permit to operate??? Not some lame he said, she said, or another of your rants into the "fascist" person of the week.
But a name of a person or company who was denied a permit. I'll wait......
