I'll tell you what you want citizens to be disarmed fine, but since the 2nd amendment is to keep our government in check let them first disarm all our police and military from owning assault rifles, deal?

OK, I'll agree with this one.

I will support the removal of all guns from the US.

No exceptions. No police guns, no military guns.

All or none.

No picking and choosing.

Big Govt had a ban on the type of weapon that this shooter used... it was repealed.
Big Govt could have demanded a background check, similar to NY State, before purchasing a gun.
To buy some cold remedy medicine you need to show an ID.  None for this shooter. He didn't
need any.
No mental evaluation, no background check... no nuttin'... just the way the NRA demands it.
All he needed was the $$$

the meth dealers DON'T STAND IN LINE FOR SUDAFED.......

The NRA isn't a sportsmans lobby... it's a Gun Manufacturer and Chemical company lobby.  The NRA represents
the gun manufacturer.
Who arms the world??? The USA.  Who supports readily available weapons in the USA... The very powerful
NRA.
Every day there are weapons confiscated at our borders going in and out of the country.  Rocket launchers,
machine guns, chemical weapons... You wouldn't legalize machine guns, chemical weapons or RPG's would
you?   I'm sure that with enough money and connections you could buy these products in the USA, but ATF
has done a fairly good job of keeping them restricted.
Should we just say F**K IT and allow those for sale at the corner Walmart? Of course not.

I'm not for banning most guns in the USA... I'm for reasonable FEDERAL gun laws that restrict access
to unstable individuals and register guns so that they can be traced (even they are stolen guns) when used
in a crime.

so are insurance companies and pension plans

If the shooter wanted to buy a common cold medicine,(Pseudoephedrine) he would be restricted  and
limited... but if the shooter wanted to buy 10 of these weapons with 50, 30 round magazines...
he would only need a credit card.

I remember in the early 60's when JFK was shot with a mail order gun... and now almost 50 years later
we are still discussing the same problem.
The USA put a man on the moon... an impossible task, accomplished from start to finish in 10 years.
We will never solve our gun violence problem if we never begin it.

gun violence problem .....

what factors in that equation add up to that value?

human mind * human emotion + human projection * human ingenuity = gun violence problem

oh wait...it's not balanced....we forgot about DNA/RNA of the human

I'm sure your response makes a lot of sense to you Senders, but most of the time... It sounds like a
random selection of phrases.

In the perfect world, criminals and the mentally ill couldn't have a CHOICE in the decision to buy guns.
I do think that removing guns from a small number of people will greatly reduce these kinds of criminal
acts.
Your option is to just get used to the carnage.

the meth dealers DON'T STAND IN LINE FOR SUDAFED.......

They (used to anyway) drive to drug stores with a couple of other people and either buy a few bottles a piece, and then drive to all the rest of the stores, or they would just order massive amounts of it online which (I just checked Ebay) is still possible.

If Cars Are Outlawed (or regulated) Only Outlaws Will Have Cars...
and other lame bull sh!t

Lets see... how do we to it with drivers???  With the Conservative mind set... WE CAN"T REGULATE DRIVERS.

NO NO NO!  THAT CAN'T WORK... BEFORE I EVEN HEAR THE PLAN, I KNOW IT WON'T WORK!

and with all that driver regulation, we still have over 35,000 people die in accidents every year, over half of those due to drunk drivers. you cannot legislate responsible behavior.

IF that's how your feel, then lets drop all our DWI laws.  Lets stop breathalizer tests and lets go back to
the 50's and 60's when driving drunk and killing someone was looked upon as an ACCIDENT instead of
what it is... risking everyone's life who's on the road with you.
Alcohol-related deaths in the US since 1982:

Total fatalities
Alcohol-related fatalities
From 1982 when there were 26,173 DWI deaths at 60% of all highway deaths.
to 2009 with 12,744 DWI deaths which were 38% of all highway deaths.

The facts are that DWI laws and DWI campaigns have cut the number of DWI deaths in half.  But of course
there were people back then saying the same things that you are saying today..."you cannot legislate
responsible behavior."

You can remove guns from those who shouldn't have them just like we removed Half of all Drunks from our
roads.
