Do you really think anyone cares outside of the Tampa convention center?
Not too sure an fight on the rule changes is going to matter to an undecided voter.

PR... way back when on this Board, when there was talk of Ron Paul winning the nomination, I posted something
about it being the Republicans party and they can change rules if they want to on a whim.

This is about power and the GOP never plays by the rules.  Just look at the GOP voter suppression drive that
is meant to keep Democrats from voting.  They don't care how they win... even a 4-5 vote like they did  in
2000.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

The fact of the matter is he didn't get enough delegates to win, and no rule change had an effect on that.
The Paul supporters want a booby prize and are crying like babies because they aren't getting it.
The RNC is setting the rules they way it wants...and for who. Just like I would expect a pro-life Democrat to get zero time at their convention

You're right, it is about power....and Obama has used it through Executive order... like selective enforcement of immigration law and to protect his Attorney General. You damn the other side but look the other way when your side does it...microcosm of the division in the Country and in DC

Obama... EXTREMELY WEALTHY?

Yea Michelle Bachman does it again. Really ya can't make this stuff up!

Michele Bachmann is encouraging voters to support Mitt Romney because President Barack Obama
is “extremely wealthy” and can’t relate to the “common man.”

NOTE:
Barack Obama, Net worth-US$ 11.8 million (2010)
Mitt Romney, Net worth-US$ 200 million (2012)

Do FACTS NOT MATTER???

USA Today caught up with Bachmann at the Republican National Convention earlier this week and
asked her how someone with “vast wealth” like Romney could “connect with the American public,
really understand what the plight of the American public?”

“Well, President Obama is extremely wealthy,” Bachmann replied. “He and his wife have been wealthy
for a number of years, and so I think that’s really the issue.
Obama is wealthy, what do, or — what
does he understand about the common man right now?”

“And I think what people care about is not hating someone for what their assets are — the American
people don’t hate President Obama because he’s a very wealthy individual,” she added.

IMHO, they are both extremely wealthy.
Take Barack Obama's name out of the equation and ask the average American if a 11.8 million net worth is extremely wealthy?

Barack has never earned more than his presidential salary of $400,000, and Michelle earned $270,000 as a hospital admin shortly after Barack became Senator. To have a net worth of 11.8 million in a economy  where the the average 401k isn't doing much growing at all, they must have one hell of an investment team.

When comparing the two wealthy men. If one is rich at $11.8million the other is EXTREMELY Rich at $200 million..
the second is 20 times richer than the first.

To the Average American, that's like saying who is more dead, a man shot twice in the head, or a guy shot 40 times in the head?

The issue was not comparing wealthy men, it was rather to the average American, if someone with a net worth of 11.8 million is extremely wealthy? You know what the answer is, even though you won't admit it.

Actually in the terms of the Rich... $11 million is not all that rich.  Compared to the 'average American' it's wealthy but not
to those who most of us would call "rich".

The USA had 3.1 million millionaires in 2010
There are 40,000 Americans with $30 million or more...
Obama doesn't even reach 1/3rd of that number.  Among Millionaires, Obama is a pauper!

He is wealthy... but compared to his peers... he is NOT Extremely Wealthy.

Splitting hairs I see...

The simple fact is , even stopping at the 1 million threshold, that's the top 1%, and the rest us are the 99% (geez, where have I heard that phrase before?).
i.e. I consider the top 1% of race horses, baseball players, and singers to be extremely good.
We are not talking comparing him to his peers, or comparing him to the average American.

It's just a simple question to ask the average American. Do you consider a person with a net worth of 11.8 million to be extremely wealthy? If you're honest, you know what the answer is.
