PALATINE (Daily Gazette) "Students learning Mohawk language". Learning one's people language is a good thing as long as it does not 'go Spanish' & attempt to usurp the language of law & business. While attending a POW WOW recently in the Mohawk Valley (Fonda, NY) I took in an interesting conversation between a group of Mohawks. I could ease drop because I am white (Anglo) & like a black man in the old South, I am invisible. Native Americans do not see US, we are invisible to Indians. The complexity of the Mohawk language was under discussion, one woman told the gathering how she gets by the difficulty of the language. If she has a hard time saying a word or expression she says it backwards. Sort of like Satanist do with the rites of the Catholic Church. I am not saying Mohawks practiced Satanic rites but he one has to wonder what goes on with the mumbo jumbo. Recently while biking in area of Auriesville, Shrine Of North American (Mohawk) Saints I witness something ODD. Two women were drawing water from a 'spring' in area where Jesuit's were alleged to have been slaughtered by Indians. The women were saying things that were not Christian prayer. Their body language had a swing that one does not see in churches. The women were secretive. I know when I pray I hide somewhere so no one sees or hears me. Right? Say POW WOW backwards, WOW WOP. Draw your own conclusions. There is a neo pagan trend in America in the guise of 'green' or return to roots themes. Yes people have every right to believe as they wish but never kid yourself what is taking place. The unraveling of Christian - traditional - constitutionally governed America is taking place. WOW WOP!!!!!! |
