Somewhat curious that with all these Pub.Sect. layoffs that: students were still taught, crimes still solved/people arrested, fires still extinguished, tax bills still sent out, jails did not close etc. All these are Pub.Sect. employees yet the actual work done by them still got done. Perhaps we were topheavy to begin with so as to boost low employment figures for re-election votes. Or patronage job glut. With such layoffs/less hires should reduce taxpayered pension padding/expense.
they fight over the $$ among themselves....
ex: couldn't afford Spanish teacher in 7th grade so we're taking English and splitting it up into TWO classes to fill the block.
1. reading 2. writing
I ask...what was that teacher doing when not in that 'extra class'? extra assist for the kids/break?

Perhaps these jobs are filled by good hardworking Americans who rose to the challenge? Isn't hard work what this country was built on? I'm not saying your wrong, but it's not fair to lump everyone that works in the public sector in as patronage appointees or political pawns. We should be careful to judge these situations on a case by case basis, to avoid lumping in people that make up the backbone of our country with people that are milking the system.

I think it's the whole of the system and the mismanagement to 'up the ante' if you will for public sector jobs to make 'future guaranteed payouts' onto the backs of future generations poor poor poor planning......all at the cost of votes....no one wants to reform COLA, no one wants to take on the contracts, no one wants to take the bull by the horns...
no one is saying that each person worker is a leech...but it is getting ridiculous when each admin pushes it forward making the 'now' appear good/better....
they are obfuscating the truth...shame shame shame.....dirty dirty dirty

Obama has no plan for after November. Soaking the rich is not a economic plan. Every one of his alleged "stimulus plans" failed miserably. The funny thing is watching intelligent DEMS run from this disaster. Any DEM with an ounce of self preservation will skip the Obama Charlotte Convention and stay as far from his failed policies as possible.

There are one million Americans in the US auto business who now have a job thanks to Barack Hussein Obama, and the US Auto business is now profitable again.
As far as the Obama Stimulus? See below:

So, in other words, what you're saying is that the recovery is also GWB's fault. I mean, if the recovery started in February 2009, with BO only starting in office on 1/20/09, anything he did wouldn't have had enough time to take effect, so it would all be GWB's fault again, right?

February 2009 is just about the bottom of the chart.

You are partially right... The BUSH STIMULUS PLAN, also helped stimulate the economy. It was too little, too late, but it was a small step in the right direction.
Remember the Bush Stimulus?????????
The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008
It was signed into law on February 13, 2008 by President Bush with the support of both Democratic and Republican lawmakers. The law provides for tax rebates to low- and middle-income U.S. taxpayers, tax incentives to stimulate business investment, and an increase in the limits imposed on mortgage.
Without the Bush Stimulus, The Bush Economic Meltdown may have been fatal to the US Economy.

But, but, your chart shows 2008 to be a failure year that headed straight down the tubes.
Obama's actions reversed it and exceeded the 2007 figures.
We were talking to a professor who has his masters in financial/economics.....said that the REAL unemployment rate is 22%.
They are not counting the college kids who are yet employed(not enough work credits for unemployment) and those who have run out of benefits and are still not employed.

Maybe if horrible Obama borrows $5 trillion more from China he can create his first private sector job-no? Yeah it's all Bushes fault that a total incompetent that has never held a private sector job, never signed the front of a paycheck, is ruining America. When is Obama releasing his college transcripts? Give him 4 more years to make America another Greece. How did that work work out?
