Do you think the Fourth of July holiday should be moved and become a Monday holiday?

Yes, it should be observed on a Monday to make it part of a Fourth of July weekend
No, it should always be observed on July 4

So, what do you think?

THIS is where Greece ended up...and now it's 'burning'.......

it's all about the party

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

By all means. change all the holidays to accommodate corporate America.

Christmas, New Year's day. They did it with all the President's Birthdays.

Does it really matter which day we pay homage to the government and their symbols?  As long as Americans are putting the collective state before themselves, it doesn't matter what day it falls on.  My favorite is Lincoln's birthday, he's killed more Americans than any foreign enemy, and we force the great great great grandchildren of southern Americans killed during Lincoln ordered slash and burn campaigns to honor him every year.

Well I was talking in the government language.  The more accurate terminology would be confederates or the specific state the family resided.(Carolinian).

Don't matter..........to most folks it's just a day off from work! It's an outdoor picnic by the pool.

It's just another 'economic boost holiday'!! Sadly, nobody gives a crap anymore!!

July 4, 1776 was the birth of a great nation

With the turmoil the world is in at this time and the stability America has provided for the world, I feel it is time for this proclamation I wrote.
I am this nation, born on July 4, 1776. The Declaration of Independence is my birth certifi cate.
I am over 300 million living souls, with the blood of the entire world running in my veins.
I stood at Lexington and fi red the shot heard around the world — it still echoes!
I am George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry, I am Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant and Abe Lincoln. I remember the Alamo, Pearl Harbor. Wherever I was challenged, I answered the call— in Flanders Field, Pearl Harbor, on the rock of Corregidor, the freezing slopes of Korea and the slimy, booby-trapped jungles of Vietnam.
I am America! I am big — I sprawl from the Atlantic to the Pacific. I am big — more than 5 million farms, forests, fi elds, deserts and mountains.
I am small — quiet towns, villages and cities that never sleep.
I am America. You can look at me and see Ben Franklin walking the streets of Philadelphia. You can see Betsy Ross with her needle and you can see Christmas trees gleaming in the dark, with the strains of “Auld Lang Syne” ending one year and welcoming in the next.
I am America. These are some of the “things” that I “am.” I was conceived in freedom, and by the will of the almighty, in freedom I will spend the rest of my days. May I always possess the courage and strength to ever remain a beacon of freedom and hope to the world.
This is my wish and hope and prayer this July 4, 2012.

I'm not a 'Great American' am I Buck?

Buck, the guy who supports every American offensive war and bombing around the world.  Because that's what freedom and independence looks like.  Yer a great American Buck...I'm sure you will be looping Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an America" all day.

Hey, there's an 'Occupy' rally down in Philly today! If you hurry, you can make it down there, march in the streets chanting how terrible America is and smoke a few bones. If your lucky, someone will be handing out some shrooms and playing Phish.

It's win-win for ya brah!

Nah...I don't feel like getting tear gassed, pepper sprayed and tasered today.  Public protest of the government will get a night stick up a persons a** now-a-days.  You know that Buck, you cheer the government thugs on- as they violently crush all dissent.  All "great Americans" support that - along with bombing Middle Eastern nations, and droning Americans citizens.

The great American Nation, finally free from England, who rightfully massacred the original Great Americans.

The original Americans weren't allowed to vote for who got to eradicate them. They didn't have the proper voter id papers.

The history of America is nothing to be proud of.

We were the first illegals.

Good thing today's illegals don't just kill today's native inhabitants and take over.

Wave the flag over the bones of those that were slaughtered to make room for you.

Where the hell is Native American remembrance day?
