What exactly does 'dying with dignity' mean?

Dying with dignity is technically considered suicide.

Lots of morphine.

enough morphine to depress your breathing until you stop!

hey, i'm all for elevating pain in 'any' circumstance....not just for end of life issues. I believe they call it comfort measures....yes?

I just take issue with the words......'dying with dignity'!! Guess morphine is the only way one can die with dignity!
then the family and close friends can walk away saying.....s/he died peacefully! But did they??? How does anyone know what goes on in the trapped hearts and minds that are still inside this living body? THEY DON'T!

From today's Gazette:

Lack of health insurance a leading cause of death

The real death panels:
~ Number of uninsured at all-time high
~ In 2010, 1,247 New Yorkers between ages 25 and 64 died due to a lack of health coverage.

With democraps running everything, how come this problem isn't solved? Oooops! We need to (you guessed it) ... RAISE TAXES AGAIN!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Those in control do actually think they need more money to take care of us.

The problem is they cost too much, and they take care of corporations first.

There is plenty of money for us to take care of ourselves.

We just can't afford to pay morons to do it for us.

Lists of things Ron Paul finds  un-constitutional »
This is brilliant.

Things that are unconstitutional:

~The Civil Rights Act, but ONLY because it destroyed privacy, not because Ron Paul is racist.
~Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the Fed, and paper money, but we knew that already.
~Use of executive branch powers to create jobs for struggling Americans absent Congressional action.
~The federal debt ceiling limit because it leads Congress to take on functions outside its constitutionally
mandated purview.
~The Affordable Care Act (that’s “Obamacare” in GOPspeak).
~Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank because they over-regulate, which is unconstitutional. Regulate
women, not markets, amiright bros? Which brings us to…
~Roe vs Wade, except possibly for raped and sodomized virgins who can mercifully be given a “shot
of estrogen” if they come to the emergency room on time, are insured, and are lucky enough to have
a presiding physician who isn’t rabidly pro-life.
~The Federal Marriage Amendment because these things should be left up to the states.
~Regulation of sexual and reproductive practices on a Federal level as described in his “We the People
Act.” How does this articulate with his introduction of the Sanctity of Life Act, which defines life as
beginning at conception and would have outlawed hormonal birth control if passed? This, like so many
things in Ron Paul’s mind, remains a mystery.
~Funding Family Planning (on the Federal level, of course); Paul introduced the “Freedom of Conscience
Act” to protect us from this particular ill.
~Public school, because the federal government has no business promoting education.
~Federally funded loans and scholarships for college because “education is not a right.”
~National Parks, which should be sold to private investors, because camping is not a right either.
~The VA because Veterans should be served by private hospitals, which will “honor” them better.

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Hahahahah - the current administrations motto is "Constitution be damned"

That's why we have a SCOTUS, which I predict, will knock it down, in whole.

Then the dumb-asses that blocked it will find medicare expanded to cover all ages.

That is within his power.

Blocking Obamacare will undoubtedly result in a single payer system.

Goodbye Blue Shield, goodbye Kaiser Permanente, goodbye MVP, goodbye CDCHP.

Our tax dollar....aka government.......pays more to medical care than private insurance, WITHOUT obamacare already!!! Our tax dollars are already being eaten up by medicare and medicaid. Just those two entities ALONE are going bankrupt!!! Between abuse of the system, redirected funds to non-profits, along with ss $$$ being used for everything BUT ss/medicare are issues that will crash the government system if not addressed immediately!!

They should have just allowed private insurance companies to cross boarders for competition that would result in lower prices. And if the government really feels pressed to offer it's citizens medical coverage....let them cover the costs of ALL of the mandates they have inflicted on private insurance that has ultimately cause private medical insurance premiums to sore.

Let the government cover their drummed up mandates ONLY!!! imho
