Heard that REMS is begging the taxpayers for $$$$$$$$$ again. They say that the letter says something like they depend on donations and contributions made by the community!!!

Rotterdamians shouldn't give them a dime UNTIL......they pay back the ALS $$$$ from the last couple of years....no?

Yup, got mine in the mail yesterday.  Don't remember if I file 9'ed it or just threw it in a pile of junk to be gone through "at a later date."  If I still have it, I'll get a copy of it posted here, unless someone else could before I do.

REMS gets paid everytime that they answer a call by Medicare/Medicaid or other health insurance policies. When they were a volunteer organization they needed donations to offset costs. A grant just bought them 2 new ambulances so what do they need more money for other than salaries and insurance which should be a built in cost in their budget. They have to start operating like a real business and if they can't show a profit go under like other businesses have to do and let a company that can run like a business take over.

REMS is a GREAT community service.  Those generous, community-minded residents who appreciate the life-saving service REMS provides will give a donation.

Mohawk would do it cheaper by giving money back to the town instead of always looking for handouts and bailouts.

Giving to REMS is a personal choice -- you either choose to give or choose not to give.  It is rather simple.
If you don't like it that many residents in town VOLUNTARILY CHOOSE to donate money to REMS --- then all I can say to you is  GROW UP AND GET OVER IT.
