Connecticut State Panel Declares Abortion An Essential Health Care Procedure

At least one state in America is willing to defend a woman’s right to make her own reproductive decisions.
A state panel in Connecticut unanimously declared that abortion is an essential health
benefit ,that must be covered by all insurance plans. The state made the decision on the same day that
anti-abortion advocates staged rallies in the state, and across the nation, to protest against abortion.

“Starting in 2014, all health plans nationwide must cover certain essential health benefits, and each state
will determine how far those minimum levels of coverage will go."

Because of the state panel’s unanimous vote, women will now have insurance coverage of abortions
statewide. Anti-abortion activists obviously intend to fight the decision, but unless the Affordable Care
Act is struck down by the Supreme Court later this month, the unanimous decision is unlikely to be
reversed any time soon. But one thing is for certain, women scored a major victory in Connecticut
against those who would dictate what they can or cannot do with their own bodies.

TYRANNY?  It's called Freedom of Choice.
Cic would prefer that the priests make the laws and tell him what is allowed and what is banned.

No one is forced to do anything by this act... no one is forced to get an abortion, and no one is prevented
from one.
The opposite of Cicero's Tyranny!

Insurance companies are regulated in every state... they MUST cover a standard set of injuries and illnesses,
IF THEY WANT TO DO BUSINESS IN THE STATE.
They can always refuse if they don't like the terms... but if they do decide to sell their product in the state,
they MUST provide a standard set of procedures... just like they do today.

Ok, thanks box, we agree, the government coerces the insurance industry by mandating they cover injuries and illnesses that are determined by the government elected majority.  If they refuse to adhere to the demands of the majority they are fined and or jailed.  Not a free market what-so-ever.

You MUST understand how the tyranny of the majority works. Go tell the unions in Wisconsin that benefited by state majorities for decades, that if they don't like the laws passed by the new state majority, they can go to another state and unionize another collection of dummies.

If it's your wife who's pregnant... it's your illness... if it's your girlfriend... then sure to be an injury!

I spend too much time here Instructing Cic in the realities of life... You really should read a little Cic.

The state allows insurance companies to bid on the state coverage.  The coverage desired is set by the
state.  The state then picks which company they do business with...
from that process, Cicero imagines tyrants... and how did Cic put it??? "If they refuse to adhere to  the demands of the majority they are fined and or jailed."
Really Cicero... you're such a Drama Queen... Fined or Jailed???

Yes, fined or jailed.  If an insurance company is granted the opportunity to do business in Connecticut by adhering to the demands of the politicians in the simple majority, and after operating for a period of time the insurance company refuses to comply with the demands and pay for abortions, the company will be fined by the state.

It's not that difficult box; the word MUST is a threat.  The word must doesn’t mean optional.

OSHA requires companies to comply with their goofy mandates too in order to do business, and you know what happen if you don't comply?  You are fined and in extreme cases JAILED.

No Cic... Once again you have it backwards.  The state is in the market for an insurance product.
They REQUIRE a minimum standard from the insurer.  The insurance company signs a contract to
provide a services for a set price.  You know... the Free Market System.
Like any person or business who signs a contract to provide a services, they can be held liable if they
fail to provide the stated services.
It's really not that difficult Cic... but you seem to have a problem understand many simple events and
you usually add some element of DRAMA that distorts the entire transaction.

Is it attention you seek???  Cause you don't seem to be seeking any kind of reasonable discourse.  Only
DRAMA!

No, the state isn't the market, they are the regulators...The consumer, the policy holders, in other words the citizens of Connecticut are the market. The elected majority in government regulates the business and set "minimum standards" which in turn gives the consumer less than free market options.

A 30 year old single male with a vasectomy that can never impregnate a women, cannot purchase insurance in Connecticut at a cheaper rate because there are no insurance companies allowed to offer and insurance policy without abortion coverage and other “minimum standards”.  This consumer is FORCED to pay for coverage that he will NEVER use because of a decision made by the tyrannical majority.

THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE READ YET......hahahahahahahahahahahaha.....

castration is also essential health healthcare......even after the baby is born

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
