The knife wielding man hasn't been apprehended yet, so there is still a crazed knife wielding man on the loose.  The most recent report says the man may be in Schenectady.  Please explain WHY the school children in Scotia Glenville are no longer in danger and the school is no loner in 'lockout', and WHY Schenectady City Schools are not in 'lockout'?  At what point did the police(that used a state police helicopter to track this man) decide this knife wielding man is no longer a threat to the school children?

The need to explain this to you speaks volumes for why you post as you do.

I didn't title the thread, Rampage did.  So I didn't direct the thread.

Your first post in the topic referred to LOCKDOWN instead of LOCKOUT...and comments following your thread continued YOUR intrepretation!

Some recent observations lead me to believe that the blog may be in lockdown already.

...your avoidance to the question speaks volumes.

I know, I know, questioning police actions is un-American.  If I don't clamor for police 'protection', I must be in favor of hurting children and puppies.

Not avoiding anything...just don't feel I need to respond to a question where answers are obvious to the majority and confusing to a few who have their heads burined int he sand! (just my observation!!!!)

What is a School Lock Down?

"A school lock down is a procedure which is initiated when school officials believe that there is a
credible threat to student and staff safety. Lock downs are classically used to protect students from
school shooters, bomb threats, and other forms of violence, but they can also be used when police
are engaged in an operation nearby, or when a national disaster has been declared. The goal of a
school lock down is to keep students and staff safe, and while it may be frightening or disruptive,
it is important to comply with the lock down for safety reasons."

The threat is often very real, but Cic doesn't seem to care.  He wants those kids to DIE while they
are learning some personal responsibility.
He wants them shot... so they won't be traumatized by a school lock down.

Cic consider this:

Charles Roberts, A milk-truck driver carrying three guns and a childhood grudge stormed a one-room Amish
schoolhouse Monday, sent the boys and adults outside, barricaded the doors with two-by-fours, and then
opened fire on a dozen girls, killing three people before committing suicide. Early Tuesday, two more children
died of wounds.
At least five other victims were critically wounded.

Roberts was not Amish and appeared to have nothing against the Amish community...
Instead, Roberts apparently picked the school because it was close by, there were girls there,
and it had little or no security.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

A Lockout is a procedure which prevents unauthorised persons from entering the school and is commonly used when the threat is general or the incident is occurring in the immediate area of the school. This procedure allows school activities to continue as normal during the outside disruption.

A Lockdown is a procedure used when there is an immediate threat to the school eg. school intruders. Lockdown minimises access to the school and secures staff and students in rooms. As part of this procedure, everyone must remain inside until the situation has been declared safe by an authorised person eg. Principal or police officer.

Try GOOGLE next time, it works...or ask Rhonda for help!!!!

The guy was mentally ill.  If the school doors were locked or "secure", he would have waited until the kids were on the playground or went to the shopping mall or Chuckie Cheese, or Hoffman’s Playland, or Great Escape or any of the other hundreds of places kids gather.

What then?  More police, more metal detectors, more armed guards, and more cameras, more pat downs, EVERYWHERE PEOPLE GATHER to try to prevent random acts of violence?

Okay, here's my blunt answer...it's already been shown that trying to logically discuss or explain anything to you is like talking to a styrofoam wall, so there is no point in it! MY OBSERVATION !!!

Three for Three!!!  The blunt dodge.

It was a simple and LOGICAL question...Why isn't an alledged knife wielding man that was SO dangerous to the general public that it required the assistance of a state helicopter and school 'lockout' is now not a threat?  At what point did the risk level go down?  It isn't a trick question.  I guess it's a rhetorical question since I know you won't answer.  You continue to skillfully dodge it with the 'blunt answer' no answer.

Do the authorities or YOU know where this man might be currently other than "known to be in Schdy "AREA""?
If they have no clue now (even though at first they did, thus the LOCKOUT), then explain how you would like them to escalate what threat level and use what resources and what lockout/lockdown measures....maybe you believe we should LOCKDOWN THE COUNTY becuase HE MIGHT BE OUT THERE? LOGIC dictates that you can't focus an action on an unknown, and that is what you are questioning! DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR STUPID (my personal observation) QUESTION?
