LOL @ Cicero and Creditably!

Private schools have their own guidelines for security, which usually involve local police,  and Day Care
centers should have.
A school 'lockdown' is almost always an overreaction... but neglecting that type of situation can cost
the lives of innocent children and put law enforcement at a greater risk than normal.

Cicero's vendetta against government leaves him with only one answer for all situations.  You're on your own!

His comments were not intended to question expanding the activity, but mocking it. How is that credible? And if the schools wre targeted for lockout, maybe there ws information that targeted that area and not others, so the reason for not an expanded lockout....let's not second guess. Hopefully more details will emerge to clarify.

Do you have kids Cic?
Have you heard of Columbine???

Yup, have kids...I will show them your post to help them understand irrational fear and how it can consume you if you don't have proper perspective.

You listed 10 school shootings over a 13 year period, resulting in 38 fatalities across all 50 states.  I will point out to my kids that there are over 98K public schools and 55 million students enrolled in American schools.  And in the VAST MAJORITY of schools there are no violent shootings or stabbings. I would then give them a calculator and teach them how to figure out the probability of this ever happening, and hopefully they will be able to rationalize the irrational fears that society continually projects onto them to keep them clamoring for lockdowns, pat downs, and checkpoints,  and all other fear mongering used by the state to scare the sheeple.

I have no vendetta against the government, just their tactics of control by fear.

I wonder how many parents in those 10 schools, and how many of those 38 fatalities subscribed to your way of thinking and would feel the same way today! God forbid it should hit close to home, but then you might finally get it.

If you want to play the odds... then of course you will always win.  Cancel your home owners insurance Cic...
most people never use it.
What I posted were the worst case scenarios of a few schools.  There were countless other schools that
were in danger but no one was killed... no one was wounded and in many there was no actual threat to the
children.
What is your problem with the police actually protecting our kids when they perceive a reasonable threat?
Are you afraid that the police will make a few dollars of overtime???
The police follow a set procedure which is meant to protect the kids and our community... I'm glad that the
police are there and I'm glad they do have a format of when and how to handle these situations.  Aren't you?
How many of our kids would  have to die before you'd spend a dime of your tax dollars to protect our kids???

Is this all about your sacred "smaller Government"???  Would you be satisfied with NO POLICE FORCE???
IMO in most cases,  my tax dollars that support most local and state police are dollars well spent.

Yes, as soon as my mortgage is paid off, I'll probably cancel it.  You are right, it's a losing bet.

here's a paradox:

teachers banned from public internet contact with students to 'curb' those special teacher student incidents,,,,,,and YET....we lock the kids in the schools under the guise of system
'protection'......

now ain't that stupid.....children should learn that their own safety on their own land is up to them......

what a VERY VERY VERY BAD PRECEDENT WE ARE ALLOWING ON A GENERATION.....sad sad sad........

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Oh, you mean like inoculating your kids for swine flu because of 127 deaths related do to it?  Divide 127 by 300 million and tell me the probability - a lot of zero's in that number.

One person's tragedy doesn't need to be my irrational fear.  If you want to live your life taking unnecessary precautions based on 10 random acts of violence that happens to take place in a public school that is your prerogative.  If locking your kids in school make you feel safer and puts your mind at ease, even though it passes irrational fear onto you kids, that is totally up to you.  It seems to be the norm in America.  We drone our own citizens and sacrifice tens of thousands of soldiers lives because of an event that happened 11 years ago.

Trying to have a reasonable discussion with you is equal to us having a dual....me using a 9mm with a 30 round clip; you with a 22 and no bullets.
Enjoy your life....you are obviously happy with how you are. I hope someday you do indeed pull your head out of the sand....it will be eye opening!
