Just because > 50% believe in something doesn't mean that it's right. I mean, I might be stretching a bit, but let me give a simple example if I can think of one. Oh, wait. The Rotterdam Town Board.
This entire issue being debated here was started by a gallop poll survey.
Aren't surveys and studies scientific in nature?
Using scientific data to disprove scientific evidence evolution, and claim creationism, seems just a little weird.
What is funnier is science using public opinion polling and consensus to prove scientific theory. If 51% of scientists believe in man-made global warming and 49% do not, the 49% are treated like heretics. I thought scientist were skeptics by nature? Not to the environmental wacko left. If you are not with us, you are against us.
If government schools are going to force me to pay their tax, I don't see why my community cannot control the curriculum.
So by this statement we can assume that Cicero wouldn't be opposed to teaching "witchcraft", Voodoo, Scientology, or any other "RELIGION" if the community so wanted it... Cic would be crying like a baby if his taxes went to fund public school "Wicca" religion... but as he posted... "I don't see why my community cannot control the curriculum".
The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness. John Kenneth Galbraith

No, ultimately I oppose compulsory schooling. How many different ways do I have to say it? Voluntary participation is the ultimate goal. But, if my only choice is the totalitarian compulsory system, and if it is true that local school boards of the compulsory system have control over the compulsory school curriculum, then Wicca, Scientology, or any religious teaching can be offered in school. Remember, I said offered, voluntary participation.

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'? Psalm 8:5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. Psalm 82:1 A psalm of Asaph. God presides in the great assembly; he gives judgment among the "gods":

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS

Yea, offered... voluntary participation, just like you want it to be... And you'd be paying for Wiccan Science Class with YOUR TAX DOLLARS!

Yeah, that's craziness...Voluntary is soooooo 18th century America. Force is the newest craze. It's so great, ask the parents of the 57% that graduate Schenectady Schools how they enjoyed their kids walking through metal detectors everyday. I'm sure they think it was money well confiscated.
Box, I understand freedom, individualism and voluntary contract is tough for a statist totalitarian to comprehend.
