Quoted from CICERO
Through the Church, Constantine could control and predict the behavior of his citizens by using the guidelines "God" has outlined in the Holy Scriptures .

Gradual changes were made to the scriptures over the centuries to engineer and change social behaviors like the idea justifiable wars and like today's Catholic Church's moderation and acceptance of divorce.

The government's religification of Science through compulsory public school education created an unquestioning populous, allowing the rulers of our time to change human behavior much more rapidly than using ancient scripture but rather by releasing scientific studies that warn us of dire consequences if we do not change our behaviors.  Whether it is our own personal eating habits to prevent us from dying, to our collective consumption habits to save the world from the apocalyptic consequences.  We are fed a steady stream of scientific studies, paid for by corporate/government interests, geared toward controlling and influencing our personal habits.

Both religion and science are used by the ruling elite for the same reasons.  To create a homogeneous and predictable society that share common truths.  You can choose to believe science, you can choose to believe one of the many religions.  In both cases, they are beliefs.

So go buy your hybrid car and solar panels and go plant a tree.  After all, the God's of science tell you, you can prevent the predicted apocalypse if you just change your behavior the way we want you to.  Have faith in us.

Using science and religion to control the actions of society as a whole is a very powerful tool. It is definitely not an exact science and unpredictable events will still randomly occur. Fear is very powerful and it is used today similarly as it was back in the Old Testament days. Still, those in control are subject to random events that disrupt civilized behavior causing panic or massive attitude changes throughout society. The actions of individuals can spark, for example, assassinations, Rodney King riots or even the civil rights movement. unstoppable ideas are created by specific events that ripple effect outward and cause changes to occur much more rapidly than expected. I told my wife once that I believe some person typing the right combination of keystrokes on the internet could trigger world war 3. Alternatively a random person could cause an end to all wars.

I have considered for a long time the idea of infinite existence. This would consist of an infinite number of realities existing simultaneously.

In our current reality, there is always an infinite number of choices available to every person at every single moment of their existence. Each individual makes decisions creating his own path through his current existence. This is general knowledge that most people should understand.

Extrapolating this idea to include an infinite number of realities wouldn't really change much, unless you could manipulate your existence from one reality to another on demand. I have considered that all creation still could be a creation of a God or in the infinite version, an infinite number of Gods. My thought then suggest that all things will occur. All things have already occurred, and that all things will always continue to occur, both simultaneously and sequentially.

With this all in mind, I obviously don't believe creation to be 10,000 years old.

My reasoning is based on the fact that I should never be able to imagine anything more complex than the creator(s) of reality could create. I therefore choose to believe that all realities do in fact, exist.  Sometimes you live here, other times your entire universe is contained inside a single drop of water that would exist in infinite locations throughout creation. Multiple dimensions, time travel, wormholes, existing as a God, existing as an infinite number of existences forever, all seem to be likely. I guess I believe that everything will be and always has been and we are just seeing our current localized version of it. My belief would mean that we all exist as part of all existence ourselves and that everything is connected and interacts with everything else simultaneously. We all will eventually do every action possible for all eternity.

Considering all of the above apparent mental consternation, I imagine that even if I could just travel from reality to any other reality anytime I desire, what would be my purpose? To exist as everything forever? Experiencing everything both imaginable and unimaginable forever seems to make me feel that I have reduced the value of my existence somehow, by knowing that everything exists.

Contemplating eternal existence, knowing that nothing really matters, because all existence is in a constant state of flux and that individual actions would merely affect local reality, kind of seems that my beliefs have taken from me my earlier in life ideas of faith and trust in higher powers. Having these thoughts kind of makes things like what do you want to eat and who you going to vote for seem relatively pointless.

Good thing God had the forethought to have Glaxo Kline and Pfizer create Xanax so I could sleep.

So am I a believer in creationism?

I guess I am not. I believe creation has always existed and always will. Gods will come and go, just as civilizations, planets, galaxies and all realities will just exist then become something else.

The good news is that we are all part of all existence together and will get to be everything and experience everything someday and forever.

The bad news is that individual actions don't really matter and become depressing.

I apologize if I have damaged anyone's brain or left scars that won't ever heal.

I was having much more fun bashing creationism before you went and turned the discussion all serious, forcing me to blurt out the entire contents of my head.

It's amazing to me that this conversation is even happening!

Some people will grasp at any scenario... ghosts, magic, demons... to keep from facing reality.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

L4L,

Looks like you bruised Boxy's brain...All philosophical dialog must be kept in the realm of American partisan politics.  That is why he can't believe the conversation is even happening, you were not speaking in the acceptable left/right narrative.  You strayed outside the narrative of 'conservatives bad, liberals good'.(Or visa versa)

All you need to know about the world around you is written in McGraw Hill textbooks.  Do NOT question McGraw Hill!

No matter how, when or what anyone believes.......wouldn't they ALL have to be incestuous 'in the beginning' to populate???

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Usually incestuous actors claim "the devil made me do it."

In this case it was God.

Here are some legitimate questions I have for the true Christian Creation buying types:

God really created a million billion galaxies and asked 2 people to populate all existence?

Then he got mad, killed them for not performing the incest correctly, handpicked 8 new "Chosen Ones" to
do it right by not having sex with outsiders, um, ok it's not technically a question, more of a colossal disbelief
that anyone would believe it really happened this way, in less than 10,000 years.

Come on, a million billion galaxies for 2 people.

Talk about overkill.

Ok, I give up, I can't compete with this theory of a lame a** wasteful God that created man in his image?(ignore the fact that existence hadn't started before God created it for man, who resembled his non existingness)

This what you loony bastages want to teach in schools?

Talk about holy crap.

Unbelievableness number 2.

Noah, his 3 sons and their wives collected 2 of every living species in the world.

Ignoring completely the fact that world travel hadn't been performed yet and would have taken 8 people a hundred thousand years to bring 2 of every living creature to a boat he built that could hold every living creature on Earth times 2, plus food and supplies. The length of the ark was 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits. a cubit is one and a half feet.

Plus why didn't Noah ask how come the flood didn't just fall off the flat Earth?

Noah couldn't collect every living creature with a million people and a boat bigger than Asia.

Plus, would he just order them to follow or did he bring them in horse drawn wagons?

Oh My God. I can't believe they forced this crap into my brain and it took me half a century to overcome the fear of questioning it.

The Bible story assumes the readers have an IQ of 1 or less.

They wrote just enough fear into it to scare the readers into never uttering a word of disbelief.

Go ahead, teach this nonsense to every kid on Earth.

I'll just send every kid on Earth a virus warning and tell them you are trying to infect their mainframe intelligence center.

Hell, if Noah can collect every living creature, I can certainly email the entire world.

Lets see, 6 billion people on Earth, I'll just send self replicating emails that send a copy of itself to everyone on your email list, your friends lists and also to every possible address starting at. *.*.* and ending at *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************.***************************************************************************************************************.***************************************************************************************************************

Save and send.

Who knew you could email the entire world.

Hell I might try to download the entire internet when I finish with that.

Or maybe delete the entire internet and replace it with all with copies of the Bible.

See what insane creationist ideas do to people.

Nothing existed before 10,000 years ago.

46% believe it.

We are doomed.

Thinking has been abandoned for conformity and conservatism.

I'll just move to Mars, change the atmosphere and populate it by cloning myself.

Who needs help, any idiot can populate a million billion galaxies according to 92% of them.

I wonder if you create a clone around yourself, covering your entire body if you could just keep cloning, dividing and replicating forever.

None of me would ever die.

Finally a plan I can live with.

Seriously, would one of you 46%ers at least try to present an argument for how creation could have been performed as written and taught by yourselves?

It get tiresome having a one sided argument that no one on Earth can defend against.

OK, once again, I'm ready for the lightning bolts.

How about ending compulsory education and allowing freedom of thought?  But if you are going to have compulsory schooling, what is the big deal if a community school district wants to offer creationism as a study?  Will it be 'THE END OF THE WORLD'?  I may not believe in it, you may not believe in it, but who are we?  I don't believe the science teacher that tells me the world is going to end if I drive an SUV or water my grass on both odd and even days.

Religious influence in the Western world is probably at a historic low, we live in a world where science and government rule the day.  People today anxiously wait for the next instruction to be delivered by a government agency based on the conclusions of the most recent scientific study.  They are paralyzed without this instruction.  They have been taught to sit and wait for instruction.

In today's western world, reality has been constructed for the most part by science and very little by religions.

I never knew there were so many totalitarian Americans that believed their ideas must be FORCED onto children.  Maybe 46% believe in creationism because it is a voluntary belief.  People that are coerced by government authority to have faith in McGraw Hill don't become true believers.

Boy, if only we were "allowed" to speak of Islam like this ... or any other religion.  But alas, can't have a Muslim, Jew or atheist offended.

Thank you very much. I just can't resist an invitation like this.

I think I covered the Jews as much as I know about their role played by their early population expansion and racial purity desirability

Atheists? I wonder if they believe in anything or just want to remain neutral.I don't know a lot about Muslim or Islamic beliefs, but I do know that they take a much more punitive stance against disbelief than the Christians or Jews do.

Some extremists want to kill non-believers. This could apply to many different religions as well.

The Christians burned the witches who failed to believe in their God.

The puritans were a tight asssed bunch of intolerant holy people too.

I would have to agree that religious disbelievers are tolerated in the US as well as in most  of the world.

There is always that one bunch of people that insist that people must die for not believing in "Thou shall not kill" types of religious zealots. let's refer to them affectionately as "the fundies" I believe it's due to them being so much fun to hang out with. Because if you didn't act like they were fun, they will kill you.

Fundy extremism is quite popular lately again.

The violence preaching members of all religions are the fundies.

Probably half the government consists of fundies.

I try to blame books for causing their existence, but even before they could rad or write, some bat shitt crazy would come up with ritual chanting as a form of story telling and use it to instill the fear of non-compliance into the hearts and minds of their friends and neighbors.

Buddhism and Hinduism type beliefs are probably the least fear filled religions.

They are filled with threats of Karmic retribution and regeneration into crappier life forms after death, but, hey, they aren't out trying to take over the world or take your possessions.

I really have never found a religion that was even close to believing what I believe.

I feel the same way about politicians. There are very few live and let live types running for office with any chance of ever winning.

I think that most people vote for the person who they dislike the least out of the available choices.

I really would like to see candidates listed for each office with a yes / no box after each name. That way we could just end undesirable positions whenever they act up, by electing no one.

Couldn't most people still exist with half the government we now have?

We really have to tax the masses so our parents and grandparents can be taken prisoner, I mean, taken "care of" by the government?

Would there be less crime if there were half the taxes we now have? There might very well be.

There would be half the crime if we erased half the stupid laws. Laws should be like politicians, with a built in expiration date unless renewed by majority vote. That way congress could still inflict massively destructive laws, but they would have to sell it again to us again, a few years after they dreamed the crap up.
