The Huffington Post  |  By Jahnabi Barooah
Posted: 06/05/2012 1:10 pm Updated: 06/05/2012 9:47 pm

A new Gallup poll measures Americans' belief in the origin of human beings, and how this belief correlates with church attendance, political party affiliation and education level. The poll was conducted by interviewing a random sample of 1,012 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

The following question was asked to determine Americans' views on origin of human beings:
Which of the following statements comes closest to your views on the origin and development of human beings?
1) Human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God guided this process,
2) Human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God had no part in this process,
3) God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so.

Respondents were categorized as believing in theistic evolution (option 1), evolution (option 2) and creationism (option 3) depending on their answer choice...........................>>>>.........................>>>>................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/05/americans-believe-in-creationism_n_1571127.html

No....he'll scan the net to find a 'graph or chart' to contradict these findings. Even tho this is an article from a liberal outlet.

Better yet......he'll just redirect this thread off topic.....that's more his troll style!!

There was a time in history when the vast majority of people thought that the earth was flat... Being in the
majority does not make their view correct.

Creationism is a 'political view' not a 'scientific view'... sort of like being a Right Wing "Birther"...
They know that it's not correct, but they profess to believe it anyway for political reasons

Also at that time, when people thought the earth was flat, the majority of people couldn't read and didn't have any type of formal education.

Formal education only means that you have been fed information by a specific person or set of people.  The fact of the matter is that with that education, you only have information as far as what that teacher / those teachers WANTS you to know, and therefore, it's only as good as the truth behind the information.

Actually, the literacy rate in the U.S is 99% and as of May 2011, 92% of people beleive in God....Good thing your in that 8% minority of the intelectual elitest class. Amirite?

Also, you can't discount 'Creationism' as unscientific. There are a number of scientists and theorists that think that 'alien intelligence' seeded the earth (either by mating or gene splicing), resulting in what we call human beings.

YUP! and there are a number of scientists and theorists who believe in Bigfoot, UFO's, Birthers, The Loch Ness
Monster, Deny Climate Change, and believe that George W Bush actually did serve his time in the Air Guard.

Wasn't it MT who was complaining about posters sticking to the 'subject of a thread'???

If the thread is now about blaming GWB.... then:

oh, I believe in creationism....

the creation of the system in which we all participate in which to purchase all of our ghastly desires....regardless of what they be....I could care less about a petri dish, test tube, cross, dead guy/gal, blood, etc etc.....keep it myself and yourself....

the hijacking of such personal beliefs into the system in which we all participate in to fulfill all those ghastly desires is WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
