I wonder if they are also part of the GOP Assault on the Aged, ...

Don't be giving them any ideas. Never mention this topic again.

Abortion is the greatest Civil Rights Battle of our time. Soon the battle over the inalienable Right To Life will be held on a battleground near you. I stand with the children and the unborn who seek to experience Life. Unfortunately, there is a movement afoot to stop the Church from exercising conscience. I would like to speak openly to my fellow Countrymen and ask that they RESPECT the Church and the view of the Church. Many like minded local Officials here and throughout the State of New York want the President to RESPECT what the Church has to say on the matter. I for one will make my feelings known.

Make it a ban abortion AND a ban wars bill, and I will vote for it.

this is beyond the 'right for insurance birth control' it's all about the government plan that will envelope us regardless.....

choice:

1. work/school at religious institution=accept/follow the rules
2. work/school in secular institution=accept/follow the rule

Absolutely correct. Leave the insurance in place and order the students to not use it, or be expelled, on moral grounds, that are not up to the requirements of the organization.

As a Roman Catholic, I am opposed to abortion, death penalty and euthanasia across the board.  I also oppose embryonic stem cell research.

We must do everything to support a Culture of Life ---  To reduce abortions, we should teach abstinence first AND provide counseling on birth control ... we should reform adoption laws to make putting unwanted babies up for adoption a more viable alternative ...  and we should support programs (private - first - and public - as needed)  that encourage and support women in their decision to bring their babies to full term and no abort them.  Birthright is a wonderful program that assists women who have chosen LIFE for their babies over abortion -- and programs like this should be supported with our voluntary contributions.

My position is consistent with the Roman Catholic Church teaching  EXCEPT that I believe that some provision for birth control training and availability has to be considered.  In a perfect world, no couple would have sex outside of marriage (or inside marriage with no intention of having/raising a baby).   Abstinence should always be the preferred route -- but we must also be realistic because the world is not perfect.
