I meant to ask where the A&P was on Curry.

There was one on Broadway and a Saveway Market at Broadway and Vischer, that later turned into P&C and moved to 5 corners.

A&P was at the corner of curry/hamburg - where the church is now

The Church eh?

Now I'm stuck thinking how I wish I could just create a church and stop paying property taxes.

You just have to put up with the guests once a week. I guess I could handle it with a little help from some beer.

I went to college with Dave Kugler when his Dad was still running the gas station on Bway. Dave was driving the Buick with a straight 8 in it and we made some real fast runs up to Saranac Lake before the Northway was built via Rte 9 and Rte 73. I believe Dave went to North Carolina State for his last 2 years of college.

Wow shadow small world : )

Dave passed away some years back : (  I didn't even know, was at the library checking out some microfilm and saw his obit.

Somebody told me that Dave had passed, he was way too young. Dave ran the gas station on Bway for awhile after Quentin left. I don't remember the Friehofer's horses name but Ken was the driver but the horse knew the route better than he did.

my mom and joann's mom work both worked at grant's..........some of the other neighborhood mom's went to work there also.....................as soon as mom heard about grant's opening she made a beeline there..........she may have been one of the first hired.......Mom and Dad ate at the Skillet quite often

I remember your mom. Yes they did start working there as soon as it opened. My mom really liked your mom and they became good friends. I remember my mom was getting paid $1.25/hr. And their raises were usually 10 or 15 cents. I remember that she was so proud of that. That was a great generation to remember.

Less than a month after selling the business (which he still frequented and worked as needed) - Peter passed away VERY suddenly at his home.

Weird how things work out.
