Treasure Mom while she’s here, because she won’t be forever
For Mother’s Day, every magazine and gift shop brims over with articles, poetry and gifts of every imaginable design, dedicated to the mirth of our mothers, celebrated on this one day. Every year, I pick out a beautiful Mother’s Day card, not for my mom, but for my husband’s mom, my step-mom and this year, for the first time, for my daughter-in-law. I pour over the articles articulately written about someone’s beloved mother and the special times they have had together over the years. I somehow am always searching for the one in which I can relate to, one that is brief, one that could recapture the essence of my very own mom. The memories I do have are really quite short, and ironically have all but stopped on Mother’s Day. They stopped on the Mother’s Day when I had just turned 10. I remember that in my fourth grade class, we were constructing cards out of doilies, sprinkles and colored paper. I carefully carried mine home to proudly present to my mom. At the time it was probably the single most important thing on my young mind. However, I don’t remember whatever became of that worthy card, for I never had the opportunity to give it to my mom. On that particular Mother’s Day, my mother died. Gone were all the memories I have read about in all the magazines, in all the cards and in all the gift shops. Gone were all the times I could share with my mother. It left me with the feeling of being somewhat cheated; but what this empty void has, in turn, given me is the knowledge of just how very important a mother truly is, just how much they can offer their children and just how very deeply they touch the core of our very selves. It is not a role one should take lightly or insignifi cantly. Mother’s Day is about life. It is about love, and it is about the very essence of who we are. So on this Mother’s Day, and every other day, I try to recapture my mother’s love in the love only a mom can give my child, my grandchild and my daughter-in-law. I can only hope that it has made me a better mother, just like the ones I have read so much about.

"All I am or ever hope to be I owe to my angel mother, God bless her." - Abraham Lincoln
There is plenty of anecdotal evidence to confirm that most of America's presidents are "mama's boys."
It must make Sigmund Freud smile, for one of his most enduring discoveries was how the perceived favorite child of a mother is empowered for life. Consider the overwhelming evidence that mothers play a key role. Many recent presidents were literally named after their mothers but none of their many siblings........................>>>>............................>>>>............................http://www.newsmax.com/US/president-mothers-day-names/2012/05/12/id/438854

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
Mother in Law Day 2012 Mother in Law Day 2012 date - October 28.
Mother in Law Day is the very special day which is celebrated on fourth Sunday in the month of October. Mother in Law Day is the day to pay your regards to your mother in law for being so kind and helpful. There is no factual information that why Mother in Law Day is celebrated. But some of the researchers think that Mother in Law Day might have been started by the flower or the card companies.
You can certainly pay your regards to your mother by giving her small gifts or the greeting cards that will show your love, affection and care you have for your mother in law. Mother in Law Day gifts are naturally are of the same point as of the Valentines Day as you can give jewellery and cards etc.
Mother in Law Day 2012 is the special day which is celebrated on 28th October. This ritual was started from 23rd January, 2002. The mother in law day is very much similar to Mother’s day which is the day for celebrating the motherhood.
For those who don't enjoy their mother-in-laws as much as MC seems to, I see the irony of the date, the Sunday closest to Halloween, because she's either a witch or the black cat that continuously crosses your path.
