The constitutional change in the state of NC has been effected - Marriage is officially between One Man, One Woman.
The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Raleigh
I express my sincere gratitude to the people of North Carolina who voted FOR Marriage in the referendum completed today. Passage of the Amendment to the Constitution of our State has now ensured that the definition of marriage, as the faithful and exclusive union of one man and one woman, and one which is open to the gift of children, is in accord with God's design and in keeping with the very nature of this sacred vocation.
In moving forward, I ask that you join me in praying that whatever divisions may have occurred during this referendum process, may be healed by the grace of God and a mutual renewed commitment by all people of good will, so that we may together build a society reflective of the unity that is ours as members of God's family.
It used to be illegal for a black to marry a white in North Carolina... That changed, this will to.

When your daughter marries her Shetland Pony, you might wonder how things got to that point, or has she already?
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Graham seems to have been afflicted with the scummy Rush Limbaugh Syndrome... He thinks it's cool to insult random women... It's a common trait among misogynistic, often traced to hatred of their mother. Sad.

Half of Americans Support Legal Gay Marriage Democrats and independents in favor; Republicans opposed
PRINCETON, NJ -- Fifty percent of Americans believe same-sex marriages should be recognized by law as valid, with the same rights as traditional marriages -- down slightly from 53% last year, but marking only the second time in Gallup's history of tracking this question that at least half of Americans have supported legal same-sex marriage. Forty-eight percent say such marriages should not be legal.

And this isn't the 1850's+...And this is like the 30th state to pro-vote its's constituion to say what marriage is defined as and...
Oh and PROTIP...Your trivial attempt to make this a 'race' issue, as your former talking point has made is fail.
Anyone of any RACE, in any state can marry any one OF ANY RACE
FAIL

Obviously NC isn't in the 51% now, is it? Poor Tom, he hates to loose.
The trend is in favor of marriage equity... As with segregation, as bigots continue to lose power, the next generation will win the vote for for freedom.

RALEIGH -- North Carolina has become the 31st state to add an amendment on marriage to its constitution, with voters banning same-sex marriage and barring legal recognition of unmarried couples by state and local governments.
North Carolina is the last state in the South to add such an amendment, and supporters hoped for a resounding victory.
Incomplete returns show the amendment up 61.05 percent to 38.95 percent.
Primary turnout was heavy. Though there were many other races on the ballot, including primaries for statewide offices and congressional seats, the amendment appeared to drive much of the political discussion.
Marriage rights for gay couples has been a topic of national debate this year, and North Carolina’s amendment and the campaigns for and against it drew international attention.
North Carolinians think of the state as progressive, but that’s within the context of the rest of the South, said Andrew Taylor, a political scientist at N.C. State University.

Get the state out of marriage licensing. Problem solved. But...I know...The statist have a hard time understanding how life could continue without government licensing everything.
Obviously no one has seen the Dirty Harry movie "The Enforcer." No one can deal with sarcastic satire anymore. I find the lot of you culturally illiterate, even on something as fundamental as a Clint Eastwood Film...

Bottom line is each state has their own independent state constitution. They are allowed to make laws that apply to their state citizens. This is the way this country was intended to function.
EACH STATE IS INDEPENDENT FROM THE OTHER!!!
Same should apply to same sex marriage and abortion issues. Leave it up to the independent states!!!
