Michael's isn't in the "Vacant Amsterdam Mall"... Michael's opened in a just built new strip mall adjacent to the Kohls & Target in the Town of Amsterdam on Rt 30.

Still, they chose Amsterdam instead of Schenectady.........................
They chose the TOWN OF AMSTERDAM, not the CITY OF AMSTERDAM. A huge difference. The area where Michaels opened just had 5 or 6 other stores open also... Petsmart, Moes, Staples, Kohls, Maurices (womens clothing) It's across the street from Walmart, Home Depot, in the area two drug stores, Lowes Alpin Haus, etc.

And the generic Ponderosa Steakhouse replacement. That place won't last.
