Santabarbara hopes second bid is a winner County lawmaker running for Assembly again after 2010 loss to Amedore By Bryan Fitzgerald Updated 09:43 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2012
SCHENECTADY — Angelo Santabarbara, a Schenectady County lawmaker and an engineer, made it official Sunday.
"I'm honored to be the Democratic candidate for New York state Assembly's 111th District," the Rotterdam native said at news conference in the halls of Proctors Theatre.
Santabarbara, who was elected to his first term in the Legislature as a Republican in 2007 but shifted to the Democrats in 2010, is seeking to fill the redrawn Assembly district's seat vacated by Republican George Amedore of Rotterdam, who is running for state Senate in the newly created 46th District.
Santabarbara lost to Amedore in a 2010 run for Assembly. The district covers portions of Schenectady and Montgomery counties.
Santabarbara, 39, is the latest local politician to throw his name into the ring for an Assembly run.
His opponent will be Thomas Quackenbush, the Minden town supervisor and business agent for Teamsters Local 294, who was endorsed by Montgomery County Republicans and announced his candidacy on April 11......................>>>>...................>>>>.................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/loca.....27.php#ixzz1srJ4KqaT
Taxin Tonko endorsed him. Just like he did SS Savage for Senate. With the same result. The only way A-Jello could draw 3 people is having this during the Green Market. Pass me the illegal cheese.
With a-jello's record of taping personal conversations.........who would even talk to him candidly even if he did get elected?

hey look its mike viscusi! too busy to vote on town issues that he was elected for but plenty of time to campaign for his nephew
Come on. Give the guy a break. He ran, but he didn't know they were going to schedule meetings during school vacations that his children were going to have. Oh wait, yes he did, and it's a convenient way for him to not be held accountable.
Not that the People's Gazette is pulling for him or anything, but isn't it ironic in the same issue that they have Angelo announcing his run for the a**-embly seat again, they're also announcing about the moving forward of him bringing the AMVETS post back to town? And we thought that they would be fair and balanced. Oh, they never promised that...
And tbe REPs in Montgomery county bring forth a teamster or a cop Sounds like Rotterdams CON party
Agree! Ya won't be able to tell the difference between the rep or dem candidate!
