Gun Control, the untold story. The Americans (Gringo) defeated the Mexicans in the Mexican-American War. As the American Army approached Mexico City the Mexican authority could have issued weapons to the populace & the Gringo would have been no more. Mexico would have defeated the American Army in a historic reversal of fortune. The reason the Mexican authority did not issue firearms to it's citizens was the authority knew the weapons would be turned on them. The Mexican people had many grievances against 'their' rulers. The Mexican authority rather lose a war & territory than put guns in the hands of it's people. Self preservation of the political elite always trumps national interest. In America we have people, usually the left calling for 'gun control' aka removal of firearms from the hands of the people. There are head cases on left & right who would use 'gun violence' to achieve political ends. It is the ownership of guns by citizens that prevents this, not the government. Read between the lines. Surrogates of the left & right will use their illegal weapons to intimidate the population. A unarmed populace will be ripe for intimidation. As strong as the constitutional arguments are for gun ownership, common sense & an understanding of human nature makes the ownership argument stronger. The pain of the Mexican people should be a lesson for Americans. Mexican pain started a long time ago, yes, access to firearms could have changed conditions in Mexico for the better. Disarm Americans & orderly disorder will rule America. |
