To avoid service in the Vietnam war,  Nugent had dodged the draft by avoiding personal hygiene, eating as
much junk food as he could and eventually defecating and urinating on himself before his Draft Board Physical.

“He literally crapped his pants when he had a chance to go to war.”

And this pants crappin hero, is the spokesman for the NRA, and Conservatives everywhere. Again, how
embarrassing for them.

Where did you get this from? I'll tell you where, out of a 1977 High times interview...Which later, Nugent said he was kidding about (2006 British Independent).

but why worry about the truth?  You're no better than Breibart

Look at Boxy pulling his usual double standard!

Where were you with Rev. Wright again?

Nugent has admitted to it several times, and in fact apologised for it, calling it a "poor decision" of his youth.
He also claimed to the draft board that he was a student, which he wasn't.
High Times? I thought he was anti-drug, though you would never know it by the cover of Journey To The Center Of The Mind cover, which was a collection of hash, and opium pipes.
Speaking of the High Times interview, was he "kidding" when he called the troops in Viet Nam a$$hole for going over there?

You seem to also leave out the fact that he is a child predator who had himself appointed guardian to his under-aged girlfriend, who was having his baby, one of 8, by 6 different women.

In his episode of “Behind the Music,” he mocked organized religion and the belief in God, and, in his book, he called the Catholic Church, “the in-house gang of pedophiles”.

Nugent is ignorant, violent, hateful and vile.
A true D-list celebrity. No wonder "conservatives love him!

I gave the facts, you gave me something you think you remember.
I could care less about Nugent, but the story about the Hygiene thing is hardly a fact, its been admitted to and dismissed so many times I don't think ole Ted knows the truth.
But like I said, don't let that stop you...The Breibart comparison still applies.

Being in the military makes you no more patriotic then those people here at home who are fighting to protect our rights, that includes the rights of those in the military.

People who are fighting here at home to protect our rights, will go home at the end of the day and sleep
in their bed... protected by those patriots in the military who secure their rights and freedom.

Both are noble endeavors but they are not equal efforts.

Consider the chicken and the pig when you eat your ham & eggs for breakfast...
The Chicken was involved in your breakfast...
the pig was committed to your meal.  Both animals gave to your breakfast, but their effort was not equal.

Where was I with Rev Wright???
(as if that has something to do with this issue)

Rev Wright is an A$$... why would I think otherwise?

So anyone that served in the Military and came home uninjured are comparable to people that did not serve, right?

You should watch the Ken Burns Documentary, "The War".. it might change your mind.

That is your contention not mine.
Anyone serving his country in the military, whether at war or not, has put his life and safety at risk
for the COMMON GOOD OF HIS COUNTRY.

(and I've watched the Ken Burns PBS documentary)

Are you seriously disputing the existance of his child? Or the mother's age at the time?
Wow.

You do realize that 85% serving in the Military , even during war, never see combat of any type?
There were plenty of people on the home-front in riskier jobs supporting the war effort and were more Pig than non-combat soldiers in your breakfast example.  For you to say they weren't is an insult to them, their memory and their families

I didn't mention the child or mother and I don't care, and i could care less about the rest of it
I mentioned the hygiene and military thing, and you continue to believe the story as fact.

Wow, indeed.

So the war in Iraq was to protect our freedoms, what about Libya were they infringing on our rights. Like it or not we lost more rights from our own government than any foreign power could wish they could do to us. If the military was protecting our freedoms then we are in deep $hit because we are losing that battle

Most in the military never see combat.
Those "OTHERS" you refer to?  There were plenty of people on the home-front in riskier jobs
supporting the war effort?
The CIA?  Counter intelligence?  Like the military, most will never see "combat" in their wars... and they
are free to quite at any time.

A truckload of upvotes for you sir.
I know alot of Vietnam vets who felt they were lied to, as were the American people.
What did we accomplish in Vietnam? Nothing. We were told we were fighting the communists, the same communists that now have most of our manufacturing jobs, and we buy the bulk of our goods from.
We were supposedly fighting against the same people that we now borrow vast sums of money from.
