Exactly! What the Republican Party WAS under Eisenhower and Nixon is nothing like the Republican Party today. In the 50's, 60's and 70's... Republicans supported PP, WIC and Family Planning programs. Those Republicans cared about the poor and those in need as well as supporting Health Care for all Americans.
The top tax rate on the richest Americans... the 1%, paid 80+% on their income, and became wealthier even paying that rate.
Today it's the Cut & Gimme Republican party. Cut programs for the Poor and Middle Class, and Gimme more tax cuts for the Rich.
