EXCLUSIVE - PALIN TO COURIC: 'GAME ON'

When news broke that Katie Couric will be filling in for Robin Roberts next week on ABC's "Good Morning America," the country yawned.  Or, at least we did, until we learned that NBC plans to pit "The Rogue Warrior" against "The Perky One": Sarah Palin will be guest-hosting "Today" this Tuesday.

NBC's decision to seat the former Alaska Governor-turned-multimedia star in their anchor chair should prove to be a fruitful one. Since coming onto the national scene in 2008, Palin has become one of the most charismatic figures in conservative America and will likely bring "Today" an entirely different demographic of viewers..................>>>>.......................>>>>......................http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/03/31/sarah-to-katie-game-on

Silly Sarah will do just about anything to get out of Alaska... even embarrass herself on National TV!
She even joined the Lame Stream Media that she's always complaining about.

To even THINK that Palin was responsible for beating GMA becuase of the interest people have in listening to her comments as being relevant is absurd.
TODAY beat GMA becuase people tuned in to see how much of a fool Palin would make of herself, and she didn't disappoint....
and if you look at the margin gap in viewers, GMA closed the gap substantially with Couric joining

Thank you for that great ANALysis, since you are a ratings expert...
Bottom line, the press built up the contest, and Today won, case closed.

WOW!  Sorry to ruffle your molting feathers.....almost liking dealing with Rhonda.  Didn't know my comments could be taken as apersonal attack on you.  Never recall bumping heads with you before, but if you want to resort to RHONDA tactics, fine! Be glad to oblige you!

People can be a  Palin fan and believe what they want. Personally I am not and prefer to deal with information I've read and personal opinions (mine and others I've talked to)....her presence was for show and only show.  She has "0" value as a credible contributor of any sort.

SIDE NOTE:  I prefer TODAY over GMA anyway.  I was just stating my opinions based on what I've read.
HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!

PS - "SHE" didn't beat GMA or Katie....TODAY SHOW beat GMA!!!!!  Neither show is about 1 person!

Ratings???
There are people who will pay good money to see a two headed pig...
Ratings (as FoxSnooze proves every day) have little to do with Quality.

Palin gets instant attention, good or bad.. its been mostly bad. I'm not a fan at all. I was in the beginning because I thought she was a fresh face, but she has proved over and over again she has no business running for public office....but she does have entertainment value.. she has the "it" factor  you just can't buy.
I posted on the thread just to laugh at the people that get their feathers ruffled as you say it , over anything Palin. People like Box would have been cheering if Katie did beat her in the ratings, but it didn't happen... I find it hilarious that the people that hate Palin fail to realize its their hate that gets her on TV and makes money for her, and channel she is on. Everyone makes money except the haters. Classic...

By Lisa de Moraes
Sarah Palin gave NBC’s lamestream “Today” an extra advantage against Katie Couric on Katei’s econd day co-anchoring “Good Morning America,” early stats indicate.

“Today” outstripped “GMA” by 357,000 viewers on Tuesday, compared to its 333,000 viewer advantage on Monday, early ratings show.

Palin guest-hosted ‘Today” on Tuesday — or, as she put it, went rogue and infiltrated some turf. Couric, meanwhile, infiltrated Madame Tussauds in Times Square on Tuesday’s show.

Female teens really took to Tuesday’s “Today” — that crowd was up 174 percent compared to Monday’s show, though it was unclear if they tuned in for Palin or Ryan Seacrest — teen chicks love Seacrest-hosted and Seacrest-produced shows, like "American Idol,” all those Kardashian shows on E!, etc. Seacrest was supposed to have made a “big NBC announcement” that day. Seacrest bailed, because, he Tweeted, his doctor wanted him to stick around L.A. after elbow surgery, though it wasn’t like he was going to fly the plane. And he showed up at ”Today’s” Rockefeller Center digs the very next morning — maybe “elbow surgery” is the new Hollywood-speak for “Not going to be second billing to Palin.”

Anyway, you know who really did not want to see Sarah Palin co-host ”Today”?

Teen guys.

Monday’s broadcast had only attracted 45,000 of them — morning infotainment shows aren’t exactly teen-guy magnets to start with — but that number plunged to 30,000 on Tuesday.

Palin gives NBC's 'Today' a small ratings bump; Couric helps 'GMA'
April 4, 2012, 2:18 PM EST
By Tim Molloy
TheWrap
Sarah Palin's appearance on NBC's "Today" yielded a small bump in viewership, as 5.5 million people -- about 100,000 more than normal -- tuned in Tuesday.

According to preliminary ratings numbers, NBC was up Tuesday from its seasonal average of 5.4 million total viewers. ABC's "Good Morning America," in the midst of a week featuring Palin's "lamestream media" nemesis Katie Couric -- was also up Tuesday. It had 5.14 million viewers, up from an average of 4.9 million viewers this season.

"GMA" also narrowed the gap in its ratings with those of the first-place "Today." "GMA" lagged by 356,000 total viewers Tuesday, while it is usually half a million viewers behind.

In the viewers 25-to-54 age demographic most important to news advertisers, "Today" was slightly down from its normal 2.0 rating with a 1.8 Tuesday, while "GMA" retained its typical 1.6. "Today" had 2.21 million viewers in the demo and "GMA" had 1.92 million, a difference of 292,000 viewers.

Ratings IMO are irrelevant unless you're an advertiser (see my two headed pig reference above).

Katie Couric didn't "beat" Palin in that notorious Couric/Palin interview... Palin crashed on softball questions
like "what do you read"... Yet Princess Palin saw it as an unfair "gotcha" question.

IMO, there is no rivalry between the two women...
One is a successful journalist...
the other,
A failed governor, a failed VP candidate and (her biggest success) 2nd place in the Miss Alaska pageant in 1984.

Box, you're nothing but consistent.. like the Sun coming up or the Tax deadline of April 15th...well, for 49% of us that have to pay federal income taxes.

In a capitalist society, Palin has been anything but a failure. I know it kills you that she has probably pissed away more money than we will ever make, but sometimes, the truth hurts.

"Kills me?"  Why would you say that??? Palin is a failed governor, a failed VP... but her personal wealth is no
concern of mine.

If I have a problem with Palin, it's that she was chosen to be the Republican VP, when there are many
other Republican women who were actually qualified to be VP... they were ignored while Palin was given
the chance based solelyon her good looks and cutesy 'hockey mom' persona.

Did you know that Palin didn't know that N and S Korea were actually two separate countries? And had
no idea why they were separate?
Did you know that Palin thought that Saddam Hussein attacked the WTC on Sept 11th?
Scary to think a good lookin bimbo was nominated for the 2nd highest office in the land... Doesn't say
much for today's Republican Party.
