$50,000 was awarded to the family (tribe) of the 17 civilians allegedly killed by an America soldier  in Afghanistan.  $11,000 was paid to those who were wounded by the soldier, allegedly.  I am not mocking or minimizing the gravity of the situation, be assured BUT;

Why does it take the government, ours, so long to award disabled Americans military personnel just compensation?  IF they even offered compensation.  How is it an award (settlement) can be awarded so fast when everything in America takes months or years of litigation?  How can the award be awarded when the adjudication of the soldier alleged to have done the killing has not occurred in a criminal court.

The American government is fast when awarding non Americans compensation but slow on the uptake when taking car of deserving Americans.

Whether it is protecting American sovereignty or bowing down to foreign, illegal immigration it is always;  Everyone else first, Americans last.  A picture is developing of where America is going & it is as ugly as Dorian Gray's portrait hidden in the attic.  I am not sure who's portrait President Obama has hanging in his attic but it aint George Washington.

The policy of paying families of people you killed in the third world and in the past -native Americans, is known as "covering the grave." They view it as an end to the matter, justice and a settlement that "makes good." We, in our culture don't really understand it that way, and expect criminal justice and often some kind of civil award as well as punitive justice. It is a well known concept and practice. It tends to make the problems go away especially in lieu of the fact that the $50,000 is the equivalent of making them multi-millionaires in our society. I am not arguing your point of why the government doesn't take care of its own soldiers' needs better; just explaining to you something that has been going on for centuries.

Now I can get an earful from Box, who assumes I am a racist hater who fails to recognize equivalency between the brotherhood of man with all cultures. But he is an as_hole so he is welcomed to show us how much of an expert he is on everything.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
