A blues legend dies: Ernie Williams, 87
March 21, 2012 at 9:54 pm by Mark McGuire
Ernie Williams: A bluesman

It seemed Ernie Williams always had a gig, was always playing somewhere, forever it seemed. Because he did always have a gig, and it did  seem like he played forever, and that he would just keep on playing and singing the blues because, well, that’s what he’s always has done.

But now he’s gone. Suddenly. One of the most noted and belove local musicians in the Capital Region for several decades, Williams died Wednesday after suffering a heart attack. He was 87.

That's unfortunate.  A great local musician for as long as I've been listening to the blues.

Ernie williams and the wildcats - awesome sounds!

Sad...................I was fortunate to share a stage with Ernie several times over the years (there's a picture of him with me and my band-mates hanging on my wall)............wonderful man.................also two other well known members of the local music community have passed on.............keyboardist Louie Mauriello (Electric City ) and producer/engineer/keyboardist Art Snay (Arebellum studio).................
