Operators of Crossgates Mall said smoking and other tobacco use will be banned on the property as of May 31.

The tobacco-free policy will extended to the 15 shopping malls Pyramid Management Group, LLC, owns and operates in New York and Massachusetts, including Crossgates and Aviation Mall in Queensbury.

"We strongly believe this new policy will not only support our employees and guests who are sensitive to secondhand smoke or are trying to quit smoking, but it also will provide a more enjoyable and healthier shopping experience to the millions of visitors who come through our doors each year," James L. Soos, director of asset management, said in a statement.

They are banning a Class A Carcinogen... Why wouldn't they?

Yet, deadly alcohol is served on the premises, sometimes to minors, sometimes to known alcoholics, then they're free to get into their cars.  Go figure.

GUILDERLAND -- State Police arrested three bartenders at three Crossgates Mall restaurants Friday night as part of an operation targeting underage drinking.

Eighteen bars, convenience and liquor stores were checked in Albany County. As part of the investigation, State Police sent an undercover, underage volunteer into each establishment in an attempt to have the store clerks or bartenders serve alcohol to the minor.

Three bartenders were arrested from three different restaurants: Houlihan's, The Standard and Ruby Tuesday's. Each was charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful dealing with a child.

The businesses where the violations occurred will be referred to the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Tobacco is one of the few products that used as directed will kill you.

There's no directions on how to "use" a cigarette, as directed.  Some people inhale, some don't.  I challenge you to show me where any cig manufacturer has directions on how to use their product.

Cigarettes cause health risks weather you inhale or not... There is no safe way to smoke.

Cigarette smoking was one of the most heavily advertised products in America till their ads were banned
on television.
Fred & Barney demonstrate how to "use as directed"!
Just watch any of their ads... like this one for  Winston...
Even advertising for kids by Fred & Barney!

All painkillers, regardless if you take them as directed or not, it is damaging your liver.  "As directed" is an estimate for the general population...A two Advil a day regiment may damage one person's liver faster than another person.  That can be said about ALL "LEAGAL" DRUGS.  Just because a technocrat "directs" you, doesn't mean it is safe, it means it is generally safe.  I know many lifetime smokers that lived into their middle 80's...How long did George Burns live until?

Anti smoking laws and the high taxation on tobacco is to punish the poor.  It is a behavior that our technocrats decided wasn't good for a certain class of people.  LAND OF THE FREE!!!

Again, neither are manufacturers - nor do they tell you HOW to use the product.  So, you've failed in your mission, and that's REALLY gotta piss you off.
