Cars like to race side by side on this street. It's nuts. LIttle kids live everywhere up and down it and all summer long speed demons are going nuts. Someone is going to die on this street. What to do, what to do?

Have you and a neighbor across the street from you, park your cars on the road edge in front of your homes.
Make sure you leave barely enough room for 2 cars width, or don't bother about the 2 car width and wait for the cops to knock on your door and let them have it.
BTW... wouldn't be a bad a idea to get a web cam and set it up.
or... if you're afraid of getting car damage, maybe something else that provides a blockage.

Not a horrible idea. Infact, my car is kinda a POS. My wife has a nice car, but i have been putting off on a new car payment for a while now. I get along with a bunch of my neighbors and bet i could get some help on this one.
As far as a webcam goes, i been planning on it for a while. maybe when it happens i'll start documenting what I can.

When I lived there the folks across the street used to have weekly horseshoe parties..................sometimes as many as 10-15 cars parked on both sides of the street.............didn't stop the speeding..................kids playing in the street didn't slow 'em down either................... once they get past the stop sign on Deforest it's pedal to the metal..........I'm surprised nobody has been killed...............

Ultimately, one or two speed bumps would do the trick.... even if the speed bump didn't slow them down initially, the tearing off of their bumpers/valences would..most of the speeding cars today are of the "Foreign POS w/ fart can installed" variety

I agree in theory that would be the case............but why did they remove them from Argo Blvd...................btw, Coldbrook may have more stop signs per capita than any other place in the county..........they don't seem to help either...........not sure there's a solution.........just sayin'

Can't answer why they are gone from Argo...but believe me, if they are high enough and of sufficient quality, it will stop the problem. BTW, Greenpoint Ave should have the same issue as Obrien..maybe even more so since its accessible from curry and Altamont, but I have a friend that has lived there for years and hasn't complained.

They have them all over the side streets of colonie and they work terrific. the kind that cave in instead of bump out. It's just scarey.
