Fox, with it's beginnings in the Nixon white house, was originally conceived as a pro GOP propaganda machine.

False: Fox News was conceived in 1985 by Rupert Murdoch and Marvin Davis as competition against ABC,CBS and NBC. Fox News Channel was finally launched in 1996.

Tommy must have seriously high to make up this type of tinfoil asshattery....Or he was reading DailyKos....Or both.

Quoted Text
They even went before the supreme court (and won) to prove that they had no obligation to tell the truth.

False: This NEVER went before the USSC. This ruling comes from the Florida Court of Appeals over a story about BGH (bovine growth hormone) made by the Monsanto Corporation. Fox execs and lawyers wanted the investigative reporters to use false statements. When the reporters refused, they were fired. They filed a suit claiming they were fired illegally and initally won by jury trial under Florida's whistleblower law. Fox appealed and the court unanimously overturned the ruling by the lower court.

Why?

Because it's not illegal to lie....It may be unethical and underhanded...But it certainly not illegal.

So while Tommy is correct in his statement that "Fox News can lie" this also is true for ALL media outlets.

I'd like to thank Tommy for making this so easy for me and really, please continue to get your information from 'unbiased' sources. Just when you do it, make sure you have even the basic facts correct and put it in the right context.

Thanks for playing....Better luck next time

Sorry to take so long to re-address the thread, but I was busy yesterday.
You see, I accidental left my duffel bag somewhere between here and Crosstown Plaza and....oh, it's a long story.

Actually Marvin Davis started Fox News in 1981, and sold it to Murdoch in 1981.

As far as Fox and the supreme court goes, any entity that purports to act in our best interest by reporting the most accurate information, so that we may act accordingly, and even has the balls to go to court for their right to lie to us, is the lowest of scum, and should disbelieved, as well as shunned.

Do you think USSC decision actually made a bit of difference in the way they "report", or slant the news?
