NY: Insurers to cover woman's contraception choice

Posted: Mar 05, 2012 5:50 PM EST
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York state is telling health insurers they'll lose state contracts if they don't enable women on Medicaid to obtain their choice of contraception.

Bumble.

NY State has required private sector insurance coverage of prescription contraceptives since 2002.
Medicaid has also required prescription contraceptive coverage.  Read Your Own Post...
At issue is  to cover the present type of contraceptive, and not substitute a different (cheaper) one.

correct....because EVERYONE will have the 'cheaper' one, depending on who wins the contract for the national healthcare year by year or whatever the contract cycle will be.....there is no drug
shortage....it's STAGED folks.....our choices will be limited by the 'shortages'....I work in it....it's a JOKE......

THERE IS NO INDIVIDUALISM.....already the Rhetoric being used to sell it is talking about individual thinking/ individual choice etc etc....but those choices will be fitted into a square made
by the system.....

this is a small portion.......

the hippies have made their cumbaya song all the way to the healthcare/insurance system and have LEVELED the choices without sharing their wealth.....as long as it isn't theirs they dont care

This is net PLUS for the state. The relatively low cost of birth control compared to the cost of pregnancies and additional children on the welfare rolls?? This is a no brainer....

This is an example of an argument with false choices.  That would infer that current cost for birth control contributes to additional children on welfare.  Condoms are 20 cents apiece, that would be 10 cents per participant.  Even if a person had sex 365 days a year, that would cost $36.  That is relatively cheap.

But, I'm sure the drug companies and birth control companies LOVE the fact they are guaranteed BILLIONS through mandating their product.

What's next, mandating bottled water be covered to prevent dehydration?  How powerful is the bottled water lobby?

This is just a bunch of more dem stuff.

Dems dictate and raise taxes on the working people.

It's not that they cover birth control prescriptions, it's that the DEMS    (YES DV, YOUR BUDDIES)    have decided that people supported by the taxes can get the most expensive prescriptions out there.   No generics for those on the dole.   Generics are ONLY for the working people.    Those on medicaid, they have an entitlement to expensive brand names, and THAT is what is wrong with this issue.

Just another means to spend money NEEDLESSLY which translates to increasing taxes on the working people.   Whether it's birth control or other prescriptions, the working people are limited in most cases to generics, well, unless they want to pay the extra cost out of pocket.   But the dems want to hike taxes on the average people for their socialist crap, just like the government bakery, the government theaters, the government gin mills, etc that are causing people in Schenectady to lose their homes

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

BIRTH CONTROL PILLS ARE $4.00 AT WALMART!!!!

And again.......what gives the government the right to force a private business to give away their 'goods/services' for FREE????

It is WONDERFUL to buy generic drugs from Canada so that the evil drug companies are hurt here in America BUT DO NOT EXPECT THE OPPRESSED WOMEN(WHOM THE GOP HAS A WAR AGAINST) TO HAVE TO TAKE GENERIC YOU BASTARD GOPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  ONLY THEN, it is EVIL to expect to use generics, wiping clean everything and anything the democraps have previously stated about generics being just as good and better, especially if outsourced from foreign makers!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Sandra Fluke's health insurance through her school is $1,895 per year.  The Republican War On Women would
cut contraceptive coverage from that insurance.
She isn't asking for taxpayer dollars, or any kind of subsidy, she is just asking that coverage like hers is allowed
to continue.
As we all know this isn't an issue about INSURANCE or even about BIRTH CONTROL... The GOP War On Women
is attempting to LEGISLATE MORALITY.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
