It was one of the few — if not the only — coordinated efforts to attempt in-person voter fraud,
and it was pulled off by
affiliates of conservative activist James O’Keefe at polling places in New Hampshire Tuesday night. All of it part of an
attempt to prove the need for voter ID laws that voting rights experts say have a unfair impact on minority voters.

Now election law experts say that O’Keefe’s allies could face criminal charges on both the federal and state level for
procuring ballots under false names, and that his undercover sting doesn’t demonstrate a need for voter ID laws at all.

Federal law bans not only the casting of, but the “procurement” of ballots “that are known by the person to be materially
false, fictitious, or fraudulent under the laws of the State in which the election is held.”

Hamline University law professor David Schultz said that there’s “no doubt” that O’Keefe’s accomplices violated the law.

“In either case, if they were intentionally going in and trying to fraudulently obtain a ballot, they violated the law,”
Schultz said. “So right off the bat, what they did violated the law.”

It's a crime to expose our democracy is illegitimate and riddled with fraud.

And how did they confirm this?

Former Rep. Artur Davis on NH: ‘Voter fraud is common’
The Daily CallerThe Daily Caller – 2 hrs 9 mins ago
Video footage of undercover reporters obtaining New Hampshire primary ballots intended for people who have died may appear shocking, but it is no surprise to Artur Davis, a former Democratic congressman and vocal advocate against voter ID fraud.

The way to prevent this kind of fraud, he told The Daily Caller, is simple: Require identification at the polls. The activists depicted in the film, released exclusively to TheDC on Wednesday, did not bring any proof of identification to polling places. (RELATED: VIDEO: NH poll workers shown handing out ballots in dead peoples’ names)

“Voter fraud is common in many jurisdictions,” David told TheDC. “I’m struck by the people who forcibly argue there’s no such thing, that it never happens. Many jurisdictions are slow to purge their rolls, so people who have been dead for a number of years can still be on those rolls, and people who have died more recently are certainly on them.”

A law requiring voters to present ID, he continued, “is just one more step in the transparency process.”

“You can’t cash a check, enter a lot of private buildings in Washington, D.C. and New York City without one. It’s just not a serious impediment in peoples’ lives.”

When asked if videos such as the one obtained by TheDC will contribute to changing minds about voter fraud, Davis was skeptical. He was, however, positive about the overall chance of passing voter ID laws despite the opposition.

“In my experience, most people who are exposed to voter ID would not change their opinion if someone walked in front of them and admitted they committed voter ID fraud yesterday — they have their heels dug in. A number of people opposed to voter ID are opposed for political reasons, for reasons that don’t have substance.”

“People plead guilty to fraud,” he said, “and that doesn’t seem to move the opinions of some of those opposed.”

Oh the poor minority voters,  give me a break, they keep treating them like they're oppressed they will keep on living like they're oppressed. But that was the plan all along isn't it Box.

Fraud by individual voters is both irrational and extremely rare. Most citizens who take the time to vote offer their legitimate
signatures and sworn oaths with the gravitas that this hard-won civic right deserves. Even for the few who view voting
merely as a means to an end, however, voter fraud is a singularly foolish way to attempt to win an election. Each act of
voter fraud risks five years in prison and a $10,000 fine - but yields at most one incremental vote. The single vote is simply
not worth the price.

Many reports of "voter fraud" are ( as  a recent case in Troy NY) actually ELECTION FRAUD, not Voter Fraud.

Because voter fraud is essentially irrational, it is not surprising that no credible evidence suggests a voter fraud epidemic.
There is no documented wave or trend of individuals voting multiple times, voting as someone else, or voting despite
knowing that they are ineligible. Indeed, evidence from the microscopically scrutinized 2004 gubernatorial election in
Washington State actually reveals just the opposite: though voter fraud does happen, it happens approximately
0.0009% of the time. The similarly closely-analyzed 2004 election in Ohio revealed a voter fraud rate of 0.00004%.
National Weather Service data shows that Americans are struck and killed by lightning about as often.

Many vivid anecdotes of purported voter fraud have been proven false or do not demonstrate fraud. Although there are
a few scattered instances of real voter fraud, many of the vivid anecdotes cited in accounts of voter fraud have been
proven false or vastly overstated. In Missouri in 2000, for example, the Secretary of State claimed that 79 voters were
registered with addresses at vacant lots, but subsequent investigation revealed that the lots in question actually housed
valid and legitimate residences. Similarly, a 1995 investigation into votes allegedly cast in Baltimore by deceased voters
and those with disenfranchising felony convictions revealed that the voters in question were both alive and felony-free.

I prefer to believe one of your fellow Democrats as opposed to a liberal NY group.

YUP!  People who are dead and still show up on voter rolls are a problem.  But People who show up to vote as one
of these dead people happens so seldom that it's almost non existent.

GWB after the 2004 election who, like you (believed the Conservative "voter fraud" BS) investigated and expected
to find a major problem.. instead found it to be almost non existent.

"Election fraud" is common... in my area nominating petitions had fraudulent signatures by election officials, but I know of
no incidents of "voter fraud".

If the Republicans manage to take away their right to vote... then I would actually start calling them OPPRESSED.

I personally would like to see every state have a law requiring voters to show ID and absentee ballots should be closely watched as well. Box you say that voter fraud is not a serious problem but Al Franken won the election and there were quite a few people who voted that shouldn't have and that election was very close.
