For some Shen parents the headline should read... Sex Ed Has No Place in Education!
This entire story is about a handful of people inflicting their religious views on the rest of the community. |

I didn't see one word in there that echoed "religion" ... just someone who appreciates human life and doesn't support murder. |

I think a more accurate interpretation would be the state inflicting their moral views on sexuality onto the rest of the community. The school system has a captive audience. A person has to literally move out of the community if they do not like the school they are forced to fund. As I said before, the solution is vouchers; it allows those parents that disagree with the curriculum and the state approved values about sexuality to change schools. |

Under Cicero's voucher plan... THE TAXPAYERS would fund a Muslim School where Sharia law is taught to all students, and anti Christian values were Required. Great idea Cic! |

Now MT posts that MURDER is sanctioned at Shen. I wonder if MT considers an appendectomy (which ends human life) also to be MURDER? |

Taking out an appendix ends human life? That's a new one Tom - do enlighten us, please. |

All Human cells that are living are human life. Pretty basic. Every bit of that human is in the DNA of every human cell. A human skin cell contains not only skin tissue, but also the total DNA to replicate the entire human. Today it is possible (but not necessarily desirable) to create an entire human being from one living human cell. When you kill one human cell, you also kill the entire DNA necessary for the entire human being. I don't consider it murder when killing the living human cells of an appendix or of a toe or an ovum. |

So, by your logic, (which you contradicted yourself in above) anyone who has a heart attack is killing themselves .. anyone who cuts their finger is guilty of murder? Anyone who has a bloody nose is complicit in murder? Anyone who is in a car accident and gets a scratch, is potentially facing manslaughter charges? If you only knew HOW ridiculous your statement is ... people are laughing AT you Tom. |

Pay attention MT... YOU GOT IT BACKWARDS! It's YOUR view is that killing a few reproductive cells is MURDER, not mine. As I posted above: "I don't consider it murder when killing the living human cells of an appendix or of a toe or an ovum"but apparently you do. My view of murder is the same as most people... the same as the State of NY or the laws of most of the country... Murder is killing a human being. |

Nope...The parents sending their kids to this muslim school would fund it. Not the taxpayer. Only a collectivist statist like yourself would view individuals and families that CHOOSE to send their children to a school of their choice and opt out of the public education and instead put their resources toward the education of choice would consider that taxpayer funded. You actually beleive that money currently being collected by the state for education is the rightful property of the state. And if you take that money back and spend it where you desire, it is considered taking tax money. |

Your posts seem to be in conflict. A parent who wants to leave the public school system to go to a religious school, with YOUR VOUCHER SYSTEM, would be taking TAXPAYER funds FROM a public school, and giving it TO a religious school. TAXPAYER dollars would be used to support this religious school. |

Maybe Cicero wants to send the kids to a non religious school like a Charter School. |

No, it would be taking MY TAXPAYER CONTRIBUTION to the school system, nobody elses. The way you write your statement, you make the assumption that the money a person pays in school taxes is the property of the state. Don't look at as taking money out of the school, but rather no longer contributing to the public school. Again, you believe the school system has a right to my money, just for owning property. |

I agree with anyone who wants to send their kids to a private school. Just don't ask the taxpayers to pay for that private school. Every voucher dollar taken from the public school system for private schools, whether a Muslim, a Catholic or a secular private school, takes needed funds from our childrens education, at TAXPAYER expense. |

See, there you go again...You have it backwards...Public Schools TAKE by FORCE to fund it. My solution is a solution of CHOICE. A CHOICE on whether to fund public school in your community or not to fund it. The lefties were in LOVE with the public option for health insurance. Why not make public schools optional, and make funding it optional? I though competition was good? I guess not when indocrinating our children. |
