Richard Nixon Had Gay Affair, 'Nixon's Darkest Secrets' Claims First Posted: 12/27/11 04:33 PM ET Updated: 12/27/11 04:33 PM ET
Watergate was only one of several scandalous aspects of former President Richard Nixon's life, according to a new book by a former White House correspondent.
Nixon's Darkest Secrets: The Inside Story of America's Most Troubled President by Don Fulsom (Thomas Dunne Books, $25.99), former correspondent for United Press International, makes several eye-catching accusations, including that the former president had a gay affair with Charles "Bebe" Rebozo, a banker apparently with ties to the mob.
The allegation is especially noteworthy because, as gay news website Queerty reports, Nixon was known to have made homophobic remarks.
From Queerty:
When a close aide to President Johnson was caught having sex with a former sailor in a YMCA bathroom, Nixon called the man "ill," and added that such people "cannot be in places of high trust." The new book also alleges that Nixon beat his wife and that his aides referred to him as "our drunk."
The Daily Mail reports that Nixon's alleged secret lover also had a shady history of his own...................>>>>.......................>>>>.....................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/27/richard-nixon-had-gay-affair_n_1171557.html

Who cares....what is in the past stays there. people making money on a dead man and the accusations are meaningless now.
Concenration has to be on the NOW....and the skeletons in closets are no concern of anyone.
The politicians of today do not have "clean" reputations of behavior...Yhis is what our country has become..
Society allows for anything and everything....BUT...maybe now certain behaviors will not be tolerated.
Being gay today is accepted and the way one chooses his life is his concern...and right to privacy...
Straight people also have bad behavior...so live and let live is a policy the media should honor.
It is a crime to commit fraud, corruptiveness, theivery, back room deals, etc., that is what should be a priority...

If Nixon were gay or not makes little difference, unless of course, Nixon were gay, and rallied the party against gays (as often happens in the Republican Party). Some of the most homophobic Republicans turned out to be gay. |

Making accusations when all those allegedly involved are dead --- is pointless. Anybody can make an allegation but it doesn't prove anything actually happened. |

From Queerty:

Anti-gay sentiment and homophobia (which was not even a word then) were as common as Hula Hoops and cigarettes in the 1950s and earlier. One should read the liberal writer William Shirer's accout of the Nazi movement in the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich to understand prevalent attitudes toward the gay lifestyle then. Rewriting history in order to suit the current political atmosphere is as stupid as anything I have ever seen. To make one think that only "closeted gay" people made anti-gay comments then is as odd a concept as only racists used the "N" word. Of course then someone would be denied a security clearance if they had a gay experience or past because it would make them easy to blackmail. What a dumb story. I believe none of it. Maybe Johnson and Ike were S&M buffs too. Perhaps FDR liked child porn. The whole thing is nuts. With Hoover at FBI that would not have flown. People can write whatever they want about a dead person, no low level aid would have been privy to such an action as this. Dumb dumb dumb. |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |

All this crap comes out when that generation has almost all died off! It wasn't until the past few years that americans heard about their beloved assassinated Pres. Kennedy and all of his many many girlfriends!
There are 'secrets' on all of the past presidents. They all come out 'when' that generation is just about gone or don't really give a crap. Not to mention....there is nothing anyone can do anyways! They just use it for political fodder and $$$$$!!!
It wasn't until Elvis dies that every jumped on the money making band wagon and told of his addictions and infidelity.
