As promised, the community's Voice of Reason will offer an unbiased and intelligent review of the newly reopened Brandon's on Chrisler Avenue.

A portion of the extended family gathered there for lunch today.  From the moment that we stepped through the door, we received great service.  The surroundings are clean and classy.  Brandon - himself - welcomed us and from that moment we on we couldn't help but notice that we were back among old friends.  Brandon has recaptured the glory of yesteryear when his father ran the establishment  (on upper State Street and then on Van Vranken Avenue) for many years.

The luncheon menu is a variety of soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps and pasta dishes -- and a nice selection of desserts.  There were enough of us present  so that through our orders we got a sampling of a cross section of the luncheon menu.  The food was simply superb.  This writer enjoyed his "Brandon's lunchtime usual" --  a classic reuben sandwich .. which is simply THE BEST reuben sandwich served anywhere in the Capital District.

The only disappointment was that they were out of gelato for dessert.

A peek at the dinner menu assured us that many of our "long-time Brandon's favorites" will be available for future visits.  This writer is now wrestling with the dilemma of having to choose between the Coquilles Saint Jacques or the Veal Oscar when we make a return visit sometime soon for dinner.

WELCOME BACK - BRANDON  !!!!!!

I was going to ask exactly where this was, but considering the fact that DVOR is in support of it, I guess I won't need to go there.

That is an EXTREMELY INFANTILE reason for choosing to not try a restaurant.   But I wouldn't expect anything better from you any way.
