Was at Stewarts on Nott Terrace the other day.  Seems this year the amount of donations collected for the children is way behind previous years.  I know everyone is asking for money and donations this time of year especially the way the economy is but Stewarts does so much for all of our communities. They consistently are giving away free things to non-profit events giving support where they can.  I see them not just a business but a part of our community.  So just in passing I thought I would share that they are trying hard to help children in our towns and city if you have spare change think about putting it  in the jar when there. The project ends on Christmas

Wishing everyone on the boards here a Merry Christmas and for a bountiful new year.

Celeste

Hi Cel : )
I usually throw my change in. I used to attend hippotherapy which is therapeutic horsebackriding in glenville. I know they recieved money from Stewarts to help  the children that attended. Children with CP and other disorders. They would have the biggest smiles on their faces when they were up on the horses : )

Hi RP: Wishing you a great Christmas and bountiful new year.

I know of a whole bunch of non-profits that do much for our communities and Stewarts is always there for them.  You mentioned a few.  I bet if we started to list them all here there would be lots of posts on this thread.  Being I am involved in working with those that have mental health disorders here are a couple I know of.

The Stewart's Christmas fund drive  is a great cause ---  (for a number of years - WGY was a partner in the campaign -- Don Weeks was a very impassioned champion for the cause ... but then there was a "parting of the ways" due to problems created by a now-long-gone local afternoon radio personality) ---  many children and families have been blessed by the wonderful programs that have benefited from this Holiday campaign over the years.

I believe Stewart's matches whatever donations they receive. I usually go to the one on Erie Blvd and will gladly donate to them when I can.
