OF COURSE IT WAS ABOUT OIL/$$ AND A FAMILY FIGHT........

but dont forget we have a VOLUNTEER ARMY.....America forgets that too.....our army is not a public school union

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I've seen this posted several times before...
"There is a VOLUNTEER ARMY... so who gives a damn if they get killed, they asked for it when they signed up".

IMO a totally distorted view of the function of the US Military.
~ It is the responsibility for the US Military to fulfill the mission of the Commander in Chief, as a representative of the
US Population, to protect America from foreign enemies.
And...
~ It is the responsibility of the American people to insure that the mission of the US Military is a valid cause, worthy
of their sacrifice.

Because an American Patriot volunteers to serve his country, doesn't mean that his life is expendable.  Volunteer or
Drafted, it is OUR DUTY to protect the lives of our military, just as it is the mission of the US Military to protect ours.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

That's funny, I thought it was the President and the UN validated the military cause.  Congress voting on Declarations of War is sooooo old fashioned and cumbersome.

Does the the enlisted military serviceperson have the right to refuse orders of an invalid cause, or would that be treason?  After all, they are "the American people".

Personally, I believe bringing Democracy to Iraq was a valid and just cause.

Bringing "democracy to Iraq" may be a just cause... if it is the wish of the Iraqi People.
The USA invaded Iraq, killed hundreds of thousands of their people, told the Iraqi people that they were going to get
a democracy... weather they wanted it or not, then imposed a democracy upon the people.
Many Iraqi's thought that the only way they could get the Americans to ever leave is to go along with their bogus
elections... then once they leave, the Iraqi people could actually choose their own govt... not one dictated by the USA.

I am all for supporting countries that opt for a Democracy... but to impose a government upon a country seems in itself
Un American.

That was the purpose of Pres Bush to invade Iraq and how are we the moral justices of the world that we have the right to unilaterally invade a country because we want to have them be a democracy? Maybe if your loser a** had ever served int he military you might almost understand it all.  American lives; Unilateral decision; non-existant WMD; focus off BinLaden; Trillionas of dollars; thousands of lives.........and you say it was a valid and just cause!  Get real !

Let me rephrase the question, since it may have sounded like a statement.

So DO YOU support providing U.S. air support and killing innocent people that have no threat for our national security under the guise supporting democracy?  Like say....Hmmmm....Let me think....Libya.

WOW!  He finally gets it. It still has the effect of Cicero defining my views:
an example
Cicero... do you support Ron Paul or killing babies, destroying the earth and socialism?  YES OR NO ONLY!

Would you say it is likely or unlikely that firing 100 cruise missiles into a foreign country we are not at war with kills innocent people?

Do you believe all the people killed by U.S. cruise missile were innocent since none of them were a threat to U.S national security?

1. It depends on the location of the innocent people.  If the cruise missiles kill only say... Al Qaeda Terrorists riding
in a car in the middle of a deserted desert... who are known to be planning attacks on the USA, then I would say
they are not innocent.
If fired indiscriminately in a crowded city "Shock & Awe" style, then  we'd probably kill many innocent civilians.

2. The USA has, over the years,  fired (my guess) thousands of cruise missiles... (again my guess), some missiles
killed intended military targets hostile to the USA, and some killed innocent civilians.

(Do I get a prize if I get all the questions right??? How about a Dunkin Donuts Coffee??? or a Villia Italia Canole?)

Again the reading comprehension problem...

Your right, reading comprehension.  I said they were in Libya.  We bombed Libya...A nation that was not a U.S. security threat....Who would be considered guilty?  In my opinion, everybody we killed were innocent since nobody threatened us.
