The new “Three Stooges” movie – trainwreck or tribute? December 9, 2011 at 6:57 am by Chuck Miller
I don’t care if you don’t like the Three Stooges. I have been a fan of the Three Stooges since for over 40 years of my life. The first time I actually saw Stooges episodes, they aired on WTEN at about 7 in the morning as part of a Popeye and the Three Stooges television block, just before Commander Ralph Vartigan aired the Good Ship News.
I’ve seen the Three Stooges on various cable television channels, and over time I’ve even purchased some of the VHS tapes of the Stooges. Granted, all six of the Three Stooges have since passed away – yes, there were SIX official Stooges, Moe Howard and Larry Fine were joined at one time or another by Curly Howard, Shemp Howard, Joe Besser and Curly-Joe DeRita.
In fact, here’s a Three Stooges episode for you – “Three Little Pigskins,” co-starring a blonde-tressed Lucille Ball. Yes, THAT Lucille Ball...................................>>>>.................>>>>......................http://blog.timesunion.com/chuckmiller/
They were on in reruns when I was a child --- and are still on in reruns.

The Three Stooges first appeared in a film in 1930 --- their career can be divided into 3 phases - the first lasted for 16 years until Curly suffered a debilitating stroke -- Shemp rejoined the Stooges after Curly's stroke and thus began the second phase which lasted 12 years until Shemp's sudden and unexpected death. The third phase was the "comeback" (1958 to 1969) --- the short films were being shown on television and - Larry, Moe and Curley - made a series of new full length movies.
There was an attempt to put a television series together in 1970 -- but Larry suffered a series of strokes thus ending any hopes for new material to be produced.

I bet the Knights of Columbus would just love to know what kind of unchristian creep claims he belongs to their organization.
